I'm planning the next chapter of "a feeling so peculiar" (my "CJ survives a suicide attempt" fic) and it's getting to election night and I'm just getting so so so emotional over Jed and CJ the entire night. Both with that guilty feeling of "if we lose this election, it'll be because of me" because of the MS scandal and her suicide attempt; it's a much closer race than in the show lmao. Both just not doing that well because she's still physically recovering (let alone mentally) and he's having an MS episode he's trying to hide from everyone. Both so emotional and proud (especially of each other) when they DO win.

Just. Father and daughter going through it but having each other's backs so strongly.

Lowkey I want him to drag her onto the stage when he returns after his initial speech, just to really show just how much he appreciates her and how much a part of the administration she is despite not having been there much for obvious reasons.

Also the simple phrase "what do you think, you have four more years in you?" will be uttered and it's making me emotional

OKAY YES I FIGURED, BUT IT’S ABOUT HOW THEY GOT THERE. IT’S ABOUT THEIR GROWTH. THE CONTEXT. THE sUbTeXt. reading everything that comes before and after these scenes just make them so much more meaningful and adds so much to their relationship so personally i think it is a necessity

also they have so many small moments that you might not know about so. do it for them.
