4, 14, 18 & 40 for the ask game please 💫
Thanks for the ask! 😊
4. What do you wear when you have to dress nicely?
I love a tailored suit! Combined with an equally tailored shirt, waistcoat, and a tie on occasion. If a suit won’t work, my other favourite is a teal coloured, knee length DKNY dress. Get a bat that can do both. 😉
14. What are some places where you feel most at home?
London and the Plymouth house. I really feel most complete there. I’d move immediately, if I could. [Insert Brexit rant.]
18. What’s one historical event that you would have liked to have witnessed?
Arghhh… ummmm… huh! So many!? To choose something in my lifetime: I’d have loved to be in Berlin on 10th November 1989. I was glued to the tv, but to be there in person?
40. What’s your favorite kind of tree?
The Larch, because of the Monty Python joke. All fruit bearing trees, because of yum
Hi, Kate! I have a TQOL/TPOT back-to-school ask for you today! We know Will was far from the best student, but we also know there are many different types of intelligence (visual, spatial, logical, interpersonal, etc.) So which one would be Will's? And going off that, what would be Breanna/Bree's? How do they complement each other? (Bonus question: Is there anything Will actually enjoyed about school? Other than leaving? 😅)
You are so sweet it hurts. 💕 How'd you manage to time this ask to arrive in my inbox on my first full day of classes with all my students?! Thank you so much for sending this!!
Also, what a lovely question! I will be talking about multiple intelligences with my one class probably next week. 😂 I'm using Howard Gardner's theory to answer. :) tl;dr above the read more, rambling below.
Will - bodily-kinesthetic, naturalistic, interpersonal
*Bree/Breanna - linguistic-verbal, intrapersonal, *bodily-kinesthetic
Hi Evergreen!
Hope you’re doing well and enjoying a break from writing after popping out two fics back to back!
For the ask: 8, 18, 26?
💜💜
There is no break, Nanu. There is only fic. 😭😉 And my day job. Which is also writing. Help.
8. Do you collect anything? If so, what?
I collect vintage and antique books! My dream is to have first editions of all the Anne of Green Gables novels. We have this little nook upstairs that’s meant to be an office, but we turned it into my own personal library. It’s small, but we’ve lined it with bookshelves and stuck a really comfy chair in there and now I get to read (new books) and write surrounded by all of my old books (which are not to be touched).
18. What’s one historical event that you would have liked to have witnessed?
I answered this one for Blue, but I can definitely think of another!
So... (And, again, this is a bit niche and specific) I would have loved to see Twelfth Night performed at Whitehall Palace while Shakespeare was still alive! I just really wonder how he meant the play to be seen, performed, and interpreted.
26. Can you cook or bake? If so, what are some of your specialties?
I’m a decent baker! I make a mean apple upside down cake, have mastered my grandmother’s coffee cake recipe, and have several top secret cookie recipes. I’m working on refining my bread baking skills and have also recently ventured into baking croissants and other pastries! Laminating the dough is SUPER fun because you can vent all of your frustration on the butter. So I think pastries will quickly become my favorite thing to bake purely for the release of tension! 🤣
50 questions just because!
1, 7, 19 & 23 just because 💙.
1) What are three shows in your watchlist that you’ve been meaning to get to?
Normal People has been on my list for ages, and I just haven’t been in the mood for anything heavy for awhile but I’ve been thinking lately about giving it a try.
Queen’s Gambit wasn’t really on my list, but my best friend spoke very highly of it and our taste overlaps a lot, so I’ve officially added it to the queue.
And I’ve been really really thinking about giving Friday Night Lights one more shot. I watched most of the first season like, a million years ago and was fully expecting to be hooked (I think Kyle Chandler is adorable, I love a good sports/underdog story, and I can get v sucked into some high school drama) and it just didn’t happen? My best friend and my mom have both yelled at me for years about how I watched it totally wrong the first time, so I’d like to give it another chance.
7) What color dominates your closet?
Lots of black/gray/neutrals, a smattering of red because it works with my coloring, and any striped shirt that’s ever been made in history.
19) What’s your favorite Halloween costume from when you were a kid?
As an adult looking back I think my first (technically second, bc I was born five days before halloween) halloween costume is cute - I was minnie mouse and my my mom took the dress off of a giant stuffed minnie I had and made a cute little headband with ears. I had a pink power ranger costume (#90skid) that I liked a lot at the time, and I know I did a princess/Glinda costume that I’m sure I enjoyed? Overall I was not *hugely* into halloween (aside from the candy), from what I remember (although I also have a horrible memory and remember so little of my childhood, haha).
23) Which songs do you like to sing in the shower?
I like to take very late night showers, so I don’t feel like I can play music to sing along to, so when the mood hits (I’m probably 50-50 on not singing/singing, maybe even more like 70/30) it’s gotta be something I have memorized...which means lots of broadway and some classic rock/folk/singer-songwriter jams (it might be Les Mis, it might be Jim Croce or Carole King, depends on the night).
thank you @eliooliver83 <3
just because asks
27 - keychains
28 - swim
15 - houseplants
27. I do! I have a metal S attached to a leather strip with Mickey Mouse hanging onto the top curve (acquired circa 2001, I have an aunt who worked at Disneyworld), and my late cat Daisy’s name tag.
28. I can hold my own. It would be unlikely for me to drown in a 12 ft pool but I probably wouldn’t hold up in a deep ocean situation 😅 I’m not crazy about swimming but it’s nice sometimes.
15. I have a handful but only one has a name. He lives outside because I’m pretty sure he’d kill my cats. His name is Spike.
39. What was the best part of your day today?
Thanks for the ask!
Given that we’re both sick, we used our timeout to nest on the couch together: We had lots of tea, some snacks thanks to @tebarambles , who gifted us some local snacks before we went home, and just watched feel good films - right now it’s Sister Act.
2. Describe your favorite pair of socks
15. Do you have any houseplants? Do any of them have names?
19. What’s your favorite Halloween costume from when you were a kid?
2. I’m very boring and wear almost exclusively black low cut socks. I buy them in packs of 12 😅
15. Answered already!
19. I was a very convincing Dorothy for about 3 years. I even had a little basket with a stuffed Toto in it.
