sometimes I think about how I told my pt I wear a medical id tag because I might faint and they asked if the emergency contact on it lived nearby

and no, they don't, they live in another state, and it's even odds if they even answer their phone

sometimes I think about how I see so many disabled people say they couldn't do it alone, but I am, and I have no choice but to do it alone

and sometimes I think about the fact that I track my symptoms, read the research, conduct the tests, try the otc medication, change my management, and it's all done carefully but all on my own

why bother messaging my doctor about anything when it takes two weeks to actually reach them? three months for an appointment?

and it's so easy for them to just hand me my new prescription and send me out the door with a pat on the back and a "hang in there champ" and then the medicine incapacitates me for days and I grit my teeth and bear it because there's no other options

and I fight for my university accomodations on my own and get walked over everytime and work part time even when I'm near writhing in pain

there is no other option
