yesterday I was working on the command line and wrote out a command that, had I made the same typo I'd just made a couple minutes prior, would have deleted my entire /etc folder. I was already sudoed so there would have been no stopgap and my last backup was longer ago than I'd like to admit. I am very smart and good at things and can be trusted with superuser access on my own devices

Am I crazy for wanting to switch from my main art and animation setup to a FOSS/Linux one in terms of software?

I guess I “can”, but it won’t do anything.

as for the prior GUI alternative, that method fails without even reporting the error. (i tried it for science!)

Me, setting up an ssh key pair: Okay I forgot to add the pub key to the known_hosts file on the other machine. I'll just do this the one time and then I won't have to do it again for like three years.

Here are some revolutionary ideas:

-Web browser shouldn’t allowed to take up 10GB of RAM just because it’s here.

-Processes shouldn’t be allowed to take up enough processor % to stall the system.

-Start menu shouldn’t take up 30 seconds to react.

-Not making a sound system that introduces latency and makes sound quality worse, uses processor and introduces all sorts of problems a default.

-Not make a major web browser dependent on said system.
