The whole last section of Memoir of Rati this week was just a MASTERCLASS in writing subtext and hidden queer histories. Spacing apart, hiding in shadows, waiting for people to clear out, the fears of judgment while you speak in metaphors and hypotheticals, the heavy invisible presence of the love that dare not speak its name...
And then there's Great as Thee who deserves every award that hopefully comes to him for this performance, because everything unsaid in this historical romance is written in layers upon layers all over his love-lorn face.
