Just finished watching ep 1 of Dangerous Romance, and maybe I just have a bullying kink yâall???
Okay, loving reigniting the discourse about this show. Seems like there was a much more mixed reception (in my little corner of tumblr) than I wouldâve guessed based on its reputation. Thank you for the variety of comments everyone. Excited to keep riding this.
As of the second ep, I am still so here for it. Some unexpected twists already. Dark and sick and corrupt but not afraid to throw in some slapstick. And still impressed with Perth and Chimonâs individual performances, along with most of the rest of the cast (but I need View to find whatever mojo she found on The Trainee set for all her other roles plz).
Ep 3. Do I think we fully moved on from the bullying a little fast there? Probably. But it did give me the most adorable use of English Iâve seen in BL.
I am happy to know that I am not the only one thinking about friend-ships and official ships at night. Lately I have been confused by NutHong. I thought that they are `just` a part of LYKN and friends but apparently they are a cp as well or at least some fans think that they are a cp and they have had some events where they act in a similar manner than some cps. I saw clips where Nut tells the audience that Hong likes to eat nut(s) and Hong asked if Nut still loves him after he lost his appendix which to me reads as more like cp behaviour than friend-ship but who knows. I really like watching interviews with all of the LYKN members or with some of them in different combinations because they genuinely seem to have fun together and care about each other. I very recently found out about this NutHong thing and they seem to keep the cp work separate from LYKN work which is smart. It would be a bit odd if LYKN performances would include a couple and three others. But then again I don`t understand why they don`t include cp work when they perform just the two of them. Nut has his own song Tasty and on the official music video he dances with girls but then he has also made the videos where he dances the choreograph separately with each of his band members. His video with Hong seems to be the most popular one and everyone praises their chemistry but I don`t see it. They stand a few meters away from each other while on the other videos Nut is very close to the other and Nut and Hong don`t even look at each other. I think that if you are singing `you are tasty, I am thirsty` you could very easily sell your chemistry with a few glances but I don`t really see it between Nut and Hong, although to be fair I am not sold on every official cp`s chemistry either so maybe I am the problem. I would argue that Nut and Tui have much more chemistry on their Tasty video even though they are covering their faces half the time but that might be preaching to the choir.
Talking about friends who have become koojin, First and Khaotung could be a good example. Khaotung first did cp work with Podd and First was often thirdwheeling them as Khaotung`s friend and according to them they had to ask several times if they could be a cp before they got the green light. I am very happy for them because they seem to enjoy working together and are still good friends.
By all accounts NutHong seem to be soft-launching a CP pairing that theyâll be hard launching later when they premiere as a side couple, based on the pilot trailer for Twenty One. Things could change, but thatâs what it looks like. Fans have been shipping them hard since there was the barest minimum of fan-service in ThamePo for their characters JunDylan. Obvi, I see the TuiNut chemistry, but Nut and Tui wonât get paired cuz they both read as semes to the fujoshis. Plus I think Nutâs repeated statements expressing some emotional distance from Hong might just make for a healthier coworking relationship in a ship lol
And just to be clear, Iâm not talking about friends who become CPsâthere are plenty of those. Iâm talking about branded friend-ships. The actors personal lives matter a lot less to me in terms of what I think the company is attempting to message to audiences. The branded pairing and the attempts to expand the concepts of it right now at a marketing level are much more interesting to meâat least on the business and socio-political side of things. If youâve read my blog, you know I enjoy keeping up with what we can glean about the actors personal lives from them, but thatâs just not what Iâm talking about when I talk about CPs and friend-ships (notice that hyphen!). In fact, itâs majorly important we see those branding as distinct from real relationships, to respect the actors as professionals and to protect our own minds from delulu lol. CPs and friend-ships are coworkers first and foremost, and they act and make choices as professionals as they enter into and work within those partnerships.

I've never been an abs woman, largely because I tend to mostly worry about when the actor last had a drink of water (plus tummies are cute), but when it comes to thighs...
*happy sigh* Sincere appreciation for historical dramas and the beautiful thigh framing we have received this year. đ
I think consuming QL with wildly different levels of budget and experience has made me a lot more able to roll with imperfections and not let them take me out of the story.
My bestie is very discriminating about technical excellence and tone and pitch and believability and plots not having any holes or logical fallacies and I get it, but I feel like itâs very limiting.
And I donât know, itâs kind of imagination-deficient? I used to let a bad special effect or implausible story element take me right out of an entire movie, but now I feel like, you donât have to spoon-feed me perfection. I can have discerning taste and also allow leeway for things to go a little wonky as long as thereâs enough good stuff in a piece to keep my imagination fired up.
(I also think there can be regional bias about what is and isnât considered excellent, tonally non-cringe, plausible etc., but it was really the limiting nature of it allâand the inability to fill in a bit with imaginationâthat I was thinking about at the moment.)

In another universe, could Perth-Chimon have been a friend-ship Ă la Sky-Nani? And in this universe, can friend-ships enter into CPs while maintaining their friend-ships? Can a member of an established CP develop a friend-ship outside their koojin??? Is that how I should be viewing Williamâs dual allegiances to Est and LYKN???? And does that mean if NutHong become an official ship it will be the first friend-ship to koojin development at gmmtv????

Like, I knew from @clairedaring the original series was popular in Thailand, and then it came up twice in academic works I was reading this past week, but the tepid interfan reactions I was seeing on social media had me wondering if people cared. Guess weâll see if this keeps up.
OP in this tweet is actually mistaken because the producers cherry picked the rating of BKK + Urban (in fine print of the poster)
The reported nationwide rating for Love Destiny EP 1 is actually 0.6. That would mean that Love Destiny has just dethroned Crazy Love! Moo Moo for the 7th place on the highest rating achieved for an episode among all the BL series released in 2026.
However, Love Destiny IS the highest rating debut for a BL series airing at the 11.00 PM time slot and it's extremely hard to achieve 0.6 at 11.00 PM Tuesday late night slot so Love Destiny's performance is no small feat đđ
It remains to be seen whether this rating is carried by the reputation of this national treasure IP itself or the series itself is enough to pull in your average lakorn watcher.
