Catching Up

How long had it been since she’d seen her? Too long. That was it.

Franky had disappeared for a while--and Megumi wasn’t all that sure why. She did know that Franky was a traveler and, of course, a wanderer at heart--maybe that contributed to it.

She couldn’t deny she was slightly surprised to see her friend in town again--and she was thrilled, of course.

Megumi spotted Franky getting off of her motorcycle near a diner. And as soon as she saw her, she quickened her paces until she was full-on sprinting. Without warning, she practically threw all six-feet-and-one-inch of herself at her friend and tackled her in a giant hug.

“Frankyyyyyyyy!”

Geddie was a bit surprised that the other woman had decided to join her underneath the bench. But it wasn’t a bad surprise. She raised her eyebrows and smiled at the woman, pleased that she would have some company, at least for a little while.

“Absolutely!” she replied. “There is plenty of room. And that’s one of the things I love about these particular park’s benches--they’re pretty roomy.”

“That’s a fine comparison,” she said next. “I, for one, have never been to the Sahara Desert, but I imagine it feels pretty similar to this. Hot weather with a dry breeze. Probably not much humidity.”
