idk a lot of people on tumblr are super into this weird mentality of "well i'm [x group] so i can't be [bigoted against x group]" and i'm like yes, yes, you can. literally everyone knows this. you just would rather use your identity as a shield against examining how you've also been exposed to the same bigoted narratives that harm the group you're in as everyone else instead of, like, actually building solidarity with other people like you.

Winged Heart whose wings are consistently unsightly due to such a habit. Winged Heart who has tried to break such a habit but subconsciously does it and has to start anew.

The biggest case for Astarion being a feral lil creature is the inside of his tent. This man works so hard to look and seem put together but he sleeps on wooden planks surrounded by jars of blood and blood soaked cloth??? creature. i love him

Thinking about masks, specifically Laudna's, and how determined she is to maintain hers around Imogen. With Imogen, Laudna's mask is necessary because Imogen is someone she wants to protect and support, someone Laudna wants to give the life she never had, and she can't do that if she's feeling doubtful and uncertain about herself. So Laudna has to put on that protective, supportive front without voicing many of her darker, more serious thoughts, made evident by her conversation with Ashton in tonight's episode. And, as interesting as it is to draw parallels between Imogen and Laudna and early Caleb and Nott, I think primary difference of their dynamics is because of that mask (or its lack thereof).

Nott and Caleb didn't really have something like that separating them. I think, arguably, Caleb required more babying from Nott in the early days because he was a complete mess in a way that Imogen isn't, which is represented in how Nott treats him and protects him (coddles him, even, sometimes). But they didn't really put up false fronts between each other. They kept secrets, sure. Nott and Caleb excelled at keeping secrets. But they were very emotionally honest with each other despite their secret-keeping. And I can't help but wonder if Imogen and Laudna are actually the direct opposite of that--they don't have any secrets, sure. But have they been or are they capable of being completely emotionally honest with each other? Can Laudna actually let her guard down around Imogen and drop her lightheartedness or is it too difficult for her to face the truth of those serious feelings with Imogen?

daniel has often explicitly mentioned the 2022 superbowl being an event that reignited his competitive spark. that reminded him when he was sat outwith the sport as red bull's third driver, what he loved about sport, competition and about performing at your highest ability. that moment was a real change in his drive to get back on the grid it seems. for me, i step back, and think, with no bills playing at the super bowl, would daniel attend? because for daniel to attend, what emotion would that bring up for him. would it remind him of 2022, the dreams and hope he had. would he sit there and feel that competitive drive, and realise there is nowhere for that to go. it's interesting to me. i don't know if he will or not. i think he loves american football. he loves an event. maybe him not attending will be a signal to something. maybe it won't be. maybe him attending will be a gear shift. i'll psychoanalyse the hell out of it whatever happens. but i think for me, when you had such a visceral reaction to something the last time you attended, and your circumstances have so clearly changed, would you put yourself through that again........
