His vacation was over, and it was back to work. Jack sighed, fidgeting with the name badge pinned to his vest. He would have preferred to stay out and about, literally flying all over the place. His hand drifted to his back, fingers brushing against where giant snowy owl wings had been only a day ago. Losing them had been as painful as getting them, but they had dispersed at the right time. As much as he would have loved the attention, a friend of his had been right in that they would be a distraction.
Could he get away with slipping off? Just not showing up or clocking in? Well, he probably could. Might not be the best idea he had ever come up with. A smirk drifted over his face as he pondered what decision to make. To ditch and go have fun, or to stay and put up with Bunny trying to tear him apart. Well, that made the choice easy. Chuckling, giving a quick look around to make sure no coworkers had recognized him, Jack slipped out of the store, intent on wandering around the town.
Maybe he'd check out the high school? Jack hadn't been over that way in a while. Older kids didn't tend to believe as much as their younger counterparts, but he might get lucky today. Worse came to worse he could cause a little trouble and mischief around the campus. And maybe he'd cause a little on his way.
