I think the reason why I fell so hard and fast for Lance was because out of all the people there, he was the only one who pursued the farmer first. everybody else had to warm up to you and some were outright RUDE and in my culture we don’t really do that so i tend to not like those characters as much ykno? also to outright SAY we piqued his interest like ,,,, the morning after cutscene really did it for me ngl
another silly sketch. i always thought that lance from expanded mod had pointy ears but only recently realized that he doesn't 💪😔 so i drew him with pointy ears lol
Stardew and Expanded Spouses reacting to the farmer' telling them about 's grandpa coming to them in a dream and thanking them for making their grandchild happy.
Hey hey 👋
Sure thing! Thank you for the ask, and have a good day ✨

Stardew Valley:
“Thank me?... Wha...” Shane mumbled something half-asleep, but Farmer caught a few of their husband’s words and asked what Shane was talking about. The chicken man took his time answering, gathering his thoughts and trying to compose himself, but that dream had left him feeling quite emotional. No, Farmer, in a good way — it’s just that Shane thinks he’s the one who should be grateful to Grandpa for their grandkid, who made Shane happy, and not the other way around. Heh, yeah, he dreamed about their late old man, and funnily enough, the dream with their deceased grandfather was much more pleasant and brighter than anything he’d ever dreamed before (mostly nightmares).
Starting his morning as usual, Elliott volunteered to go to Pierre’s store for groceries, saying he needed to stop by the Library for something. When the poet arrived at the Library, he immediately found several books of dream dictionaries and searched for an interpretation of his dream. Upon his return, Elliott told his dearest spouse about the dream and his desire to learn its meaning. He was driven not so much by superstition as by curiosity. All the more so when Farmer’s grandfather looked so happy and spoke such warm words — even without an interpretation, you’d take that as a good sign. So, having satisfied his curiosity, Elliott kissed Farmer and, with a heart overflowing with joy, returned to his duties as a loving husband.
“How did you sleep, dear?” Farmer noticed Sebastian’s sweet smile spreading across his half-asleep face, which was a bit unusual, since their husband always looked a little grumpy and wanted to sleep with Farmer for another five minutes. Sebby said he’d dreamed about the deceased, and noticing the puzzled look on Farmer’s face, he immediately explained who had appeared in his dream and all the details. “Your Grandpa thanked me for making you happy… well, he also asked me not to smoke on the farm, heh.” Knowing that it was definitely the spirit of their late Grandpa, Farmer’s heart filled with joy. Their beloved husband, and the spirit of their beloved Grandpa, who is happy for them and for Sabby…
At first, Sam was a little scared that he’d been dreaming about dead people, because his grandmother usually said that such dreams weren’t a very good sign. He wasn’t particularly superstitious, but all sorts of thoughts kept popping into his head. Although the dream about Grandpa itself was very peaceful and pleasant. Sammy could even swear his cheeks flushed when the kind old man thanked him for making their grandkid happiest person alive. Sam shared his dream with Farmer, having finally convinced himself that it was a good sign, and hugged his partner tightly, overflowing with happiness and the desire to shower his beloved with so many little kisses.
*Gasp!* A ghost! Farmer, Farmer, honey, wake up! Alex could have sworn he saw a ghost right in front of him— oh, wait, he’s in bed, and Farmer is giving him a slightly grumpy look. Oops, it seems his enthusiastic shout woke up his spouse. Alex will apologize, but since Farmer is already awake, he’ll quickly tell him that he dreamed about their Grandpa’s ghost. He was wearing a blue nightcap, floating in the air and thanking Alex for everything he’d done for Farmer. It was so warm and kind; he was deeply touched and wanted to say something back… but it was just a dream. “Mmm… That wasn’t a dream.” WHAT??? Was it really a ghost after all?! Honey, wake up — Alex has a lot of questions!
“Are you okay, dear? You were muttering something, and i thought about waking you up.” The voice of the person dearest to Harvey, full of tenderness and concern for him… The doctor quickly reassures his partner and explains that it wasn’t a nightmare, the kind he sometimes had because of work-related stress. If he remembers correctly, he was trying to say something to Grandpa… “My Grandpa?” Yes, Harvey was surprised too, but it was a good dream. “You had tears in your eyes while you were sleeping…” It wasn’t from the horror, but from their Grandpa’s warm words of gratitude, which touched Harvey’s heart deeply. He’s the one who should thank Grandpa, because it was Grandpa’s gift that allowed Farmer to arrive in Stardew Valley.
Although it was a pleasant dream, Penny was a little puzzled as to why she had dreamed specifically of her spouse’s grandfather, whom she had only ever seen in a photograph. The young teacher decided to look for an answer in a dream dictionary, and interpreting it as a warning sign of danger and impending changes didn't fit (and she certainly didn’t like it). Her spouse’s grandfather looked happy and at peace, so it must have been a positive sign. Penny would tell Farmer about her unusual dream, and later rush to the kitchen to finish making breakfast, without hearing Farmer tell her that it was most likely a ghost, not just a dream. Maybe it was better for her not to know, at least for now.
As soon as Abigail notices that her partner has barely opened their eyes in bed, she’ll immediately start gently but firmly nudging them, excitedly sharing her dream with them. What surprised her most wasn’t even that it was Farmer’s Grandpa, but how clearly she remembered everything — the words spoken and the setting itself. Farmer, who already had experience with the ghost of their beloved late grandfather, sleepily told their wife that it was a real spirit and that she had truly made them happy, and decided to go back to sleep for a couple more minutes… until he was woken up again a second later by Abby’s excited scream. A real ghost! But also awww, Grandpa was so kind to her, and she loves Farmer so, so much! (“Abby, sweetheart, let me sleep...”)
It was a peaceful morning when Leah wanted to tell her partner about her unusual dream featuring their late Grandpa, but Farmer reveals to their wife what they already know about her dream, because “Grandpa had already told them everything, and it was very sweet,” saying it so casually, as if they were discussing today’s weather. ….Wonderful. So instead of calmly telling them about her very pleased dream involving their Grandpa, Leah now has to rack her brain trying to figure out how Farmer found out about everything before she even told him. And what does “he told them everything” even mean, if it was her dream— Farmer. It was a dream, wasn’t it? …Sigh. Ok, but right now, Leah just wants to enjoy a quiet cup of tea with her spouse.
At first, Haley was worried about dreaming about Farmer’s grandfather, because if there’s one thing she remembers from her sister’s endless rambling about dreams and their meanings, it’s that when you dream about people who have passed away, it usually portends terrible changes in the future. So, before she had a chance to tell her spouse about it, Haley immediately texted Emily, after which she breathed a sigh of relief when Emily said that, based on the dream’s description and happy Grandpa, everything was fine. Farmer asked their wife what had happened, because that morning they’d noticed her expression shifting from panic to calm, but a minute later they found out everything. “Oh, did my old man visit you?” “....What do you mean “visit?”
For Emily, dreams are not just a series of images and sounds that arise in her mind, but gateways to journeys beyond the physical body, coded messages, and warnings from the future. In the end, her dream about Farmer turned out to be prophetic, and their fates became intertwined. And now, once again, Emily had an important dream featuring her spouse’s late grandfather, who was a very important and beloved person to them. The old man gently called the blue-haired young woman by name and thanked her, beaming like a bright sun. The very next morning, Emily, in a wonderful mood, would tell Farmer about her dream, thinking that it was indeed the spirit of their Grandpa, who was happy in the other world and had found peace.
This dream was unusual for Maru, at least because she knew how to control her dreams. Yes, Farmer, dreams can be controlled using certain practical techniques, and she had learned to do so, which allowed her to think about all sorts of possible ideas for inventions even in her sleep. Until one such dream was interrupted by Grandpa’s appearance. No, Maru was actually angry about it, and Grandpa looked kind and spoke warmly, it’s just that… Maru wasn’t thinking about it; she couldn’t control it. Or maybe her subconscious really did want to see this? In any case, it was a pleasant dream, so she’s not complaining. That, by the way, was exactly how Maru imagined her spouse’s grandfather — a kind and sweet old man.
Stardew Valley Expanded:
“Dear, did you have other relatives who possessed magical abilities and, like spirits, could visit people in their dreams even after death?” Judging by the way Farmer choked on their coffee, this was clearly something shocking to Magnus’s partner. But they’d been talking about their grandfather and the magical fires that had lit up his grave. The wizard would tell Farmer about his dream and how some people with very powerful magic could, as spirits, remain in the world of the living and even interact with it at will. No, Magnus isn’t wary — especially since he sensed positive energy from their late Grandpa in his dream. He’s just curious. Farmer’s grandfather seems to have been a very powerful person....
Farmer noticed that their husband, Lance, had been somewhat pensive and taciturn since early that morning, so they asked him what was on his mind. And the pink-haired adventurer answered honestly — a dream about their dear, late grandfather. What was most unusual, however, wasn’t even that he’d dreamed of his spouse’s deceased relative, but that Lance had sensed magic at that moment. It was incredibly powerful — capable of leveling cities... yet at the same time so gentle and bright. Such power is characteristic of very strong sorcerers, capable of influencing the world even after death. When Farmer asked him what the dream was like, Lance recalled Grandpa’s warm words of gratitude, smiled at Farmer, and replied, “The dream was quite pleasant.”
Victor was surprised that he had so suddenly dreamed of a man he had never seen in real life, but it wasn’t a nightmare in which the dead were chasing and frightening him. Oh, Farmer really doesn’t need to worry about Victor, he didn’t have a nightmare. He simply dreamed of their grandfather, but the dream itself was quite peaceful. What was Grandpa doing? He thanked Victor for making Farmer happy. “Although I’m the one who should be thankful for such a beautiful, kind, Incredible person like you~” “You can tell him next time.” Victor thought his spouse was joking and didn’t mean a real ghost, so he playfully began hugging and kissing Farmer, who didn’t mind the affection at all.
“I dreamed about your Grandpa.” Sophia’s voice sounded somewhat displeased, as if it weren’t something unusual or sweet, but rather annoying. No, she's not mad! Just simply had a dream in which she was wearing shining armor and fighting a villain, on the verge of victory, when Grandpa suddenly appeared and smiled as he thanked Sophi for making Farmer happy. And she smiled gently in response, but that distraction gave the villain a moment to push her off a cliff, where she woke up. “I’m sure Grandpa feels a little guilty and will apologize in your next dream.” Farmer didn’t understand why their wife took it as a joke, but it was nice to hear his wife laugh rather than see her looking slightly annoyed.
To tell the truth, Olivia was a little unsettled after her dream because of the omens. She usually doesn’t believe in all those superstitions and dream interpretations, but she’s no longer a young woman, and when the dead come to you, even with kind words… Her grandmother once dreamed of a deceased relative two weeks before the old lady herself passed away. So Olivia checked every possible website for dream interpretations and found positive comments, which somewhat reassured the former Joja accountant. Talking to Farmer about the dream finally brought peace to her soul. And if she’s going to recall Grandpa’s words from the dream, then it’s Olivia who should thank the old man for his wonderful grandchild, who makes her happy.
To tell the truth, poor Claire sometimes gets so worked up at her job that she often starts dreaming about either a situation at work or a conflict with a customer, or the same thing, but with even more unpleasant twists that can turn into a nightmare. So having a different kind of dream — one that’s quite peaceful, pleasant, and completely unrelated to stress — is a nice change. Although Claire was a little unsettled by the fact that she dreamed about dead people, her dear spouse’s grandfather looked so kind and happy… It’s definitely better than more shouting and complaints from rude people on the other side of the cash register. So Claire will tell Farmer about her dream in high spirits.
Farmer stretched lazily in bed, trying to wake up, and immediately turned toward where Scarlett was lying. But instead of sleeping or being half-asleep, Scarlett was intently typing something on her phone, ignoring her spouse’s feigned grumbling about the need for a morning kiss from their beautiful wife. Still, she told Farmer that she’d been looking up the meanings of dreams, recounting in detail the dream about their late grandfather. But she’d already found the answer, and it was a good one, so Scarlett could kiss her dear Farmer and— “Knowing Grandpa, it was most likely his spirit in your dream.” Farmer immediately regretted what they had said when they saw how wide her eyes had become in shock.

SVE LANCE MENTION. Lance so i don't know if i will actually do it. We will see.
Okay sO lance immediately gives the player his schedule upon their first interaction, so naturally i thought it was a very important item and I memorized the whole thing.
I find lance’s time spent at the crimson badlands a place of interest.
So imagine lance’s heart event where lance’s love interest ( i think female farmer works splendidly) stays at the island adventurers guild (you know the one I’m talking about 😏) and in the middle of the night, lance has to warp to the castle village gate due to some emergency.
so lance is like, super tired, yeah? And he’s there, dealing with whatever shit summoned him / needs to be taken care of and all of the sudden, one of those freaky fallen adventurer monsters comes out and attacks him.
lance, in his extremely tired state of mind, only notices that *wait a minute, what the hell?? This guy kinda looks like my significant other???*
His reaction time is impeccable, of course. So the adventurer is dead within two seconds flat.
But it leaves lance with a chilling, harrowing sense of somberness at the prospect that his lover could have visited to check up on him and they would be dead in front of him nonetheless.
——
okay anyways Lance eventually makes his way back to the mine carts to get back to the guild, but after the traumatic experience, he’s mentally out of it — and he gets wounded very easily.
he makes it back and his partner is very worried about how he was caught so off guard. Like, lance is an incredible fighter so there’s got to be something deeply wrong for him to be so easily wounded like this. He’s not acting like himself.
Lance does not explain the event immediately, because he hasn’t even processed it for himself, but his partner notices how desperately clingy he is all the sudden and doesn’t press further. There can be spice here, but it’s not necessary.
——
a few days later, lance has a nightmare/ night terrors related to that event and wakes up multiple times in the night in a cold sweat. Upon seeing his lover’s growing unease, lance finally opens up about what happened, leaving his partner shocked at how he carried that burden for however long it had been since.
TL;DR what if lance killed a fallen adventurer that looked like his partner. If you don’t know what that monster looks like , here’s a photo from the SVE wiki
Ok anywho i dont know who will see this because idk how big lance’s fanclub is but if you see this lmk your thoughts. I might have a draft of this fic when i attempted writing it many two years or so ago.
also tagging @studentinpursuitofclouds because i know you like lance and you seem cool and i dont know what else to put here but hi I THINK YOU ARE GREAT
