Bambi is like Batman. I..guys. Bambi is Richard "Dick" Grayson and his father is Batman. Except Bambi and his dad aren't in the brother/parental figure limbo so I guess he's more Jason Todd?? But the direct loss of a parent, fighting, distance, frustration, words said in anger, emotional turmoil etc all remind me of reading the early comics when we first meet Robin. Maybe I'm just seeing Batman in everything (likely, I have a list (and a problem)) but the grieving bright (more ways than one for Dick) child and mask wearing (again in more ways than on for B) adult who care abt each other so much yet stumble into building hurts that pile up even amongst the love and the bonding is so them to me idk what to think anymore. It's god fucking knows at night and I feel very strongly rn, I need others to tell me I'm not crazy. I'm not awake enough to draw direct comparisons and early Batman was actually way more of a loose character whose humor and seriousness were more in juxtaposition and young Dick was one of those little lunatic kids who was dramatic and angry, deeply insecure abt his place in Bruce's heart etc it's a fucking lot okay. Esp if you take into account the sheer amount of content there is of them and how many writers and characterization blips they have I genuinely cannot think of all that right now just know that I made that connection however accurate it is good night. And sorry for all the swearing and rambling I think it will happen again
