More kitchen witch prepping; I found avocados for 49 cents each, they were really hard though. Since I’m making very limited trips to the store and then just for perishables like milk and lettuce, I grabbed them anyway. I found a way to have avocado toast or fresh guacamole anytime I want without going out for fresh avocados while we’re safe at home. I left the unripe avocados in a bag with a couple apples and they ripened up quickly, apple release a chemical that ripens avocados in a day or so! Now I’m mashing them and freezing them in ice trays! Two cubes equals half an avocado. Once they’re frozen I’ll transfer them to a freezer bag. . Avocados are associated with love, beauty, serenity, and prosperity. You can charge avocados to resonate with your heart chakra when you need to bring more love into your life. I like to think of today as Irish Heritage Day, all my ancestors are speaking in kind voices today, and not just the Irish ones. Our ancestors persevered through challenging times, our existence is evidence of that. Which brings me to potatoes. We’ve all heard of the hardships of the potato famine, My ancestors tell me I’m blessed today to have some potatoes. But how to store them so that they last? Not in the plastic bags they came in, those don’t breathe and will cause them to sprout, or rot sooner. Store unwashed potatoes in a cardboard box, you can layer shredded paper in between them and add some holes in the box for ventilation. Pull out any with bad spots and use them first, cutting away the bad spots before using. Put your box of potatoes in a cool dark spot in your home, basement, garage, or closet, the closer to 45˚F to 50˚F (7˚C to 10˚C) and 80-90% the longer they’ll last. Check them occasionally and pull out any bad ones. Potatoes are associated with the moon and earth magic, stability, and protection. All root crops are good for grounding and to heal the root chakra which is associated with feeling safe. When you prep kitchen witch style; these onions should last at least three-four months (longer that we should need) hanging in nylons with a knot between each one because they get good air flow and they’re not touching each other. Of course all the ones I see online are nude colored, but all I had was witchy black! . Onions are good for protection magic, health and healing, stability, endurance, prosperity, and soothing over anger.
