Day after the elections - Get ready to fight!

No matter the outcome, we need a People’s Mandate to address the triple pandemic of racism, COVID-19, and recession. We want Trump out. But even if that happens, we cannot stop the fight. Our response on November 4 can set the tone for struggle for the next four years.

We don’t know the outcome. But we are READY to say EITHER, 1. “Don’t let Trump steal the election!” or 2. “Fight Trump and everything he stands for!” or 3. “A Biden win will not give the freedom we demand!”

The Twin Cities Coalition for Justice for Jamar (TCC4J) is uniting the National Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression for a U.S.-wide day of protest Nov. 4 around the following demands. --Stop Police Crimes! Community Control of the Police --Extend and Expand Economic Relief for the Unemployed --Stop Evictions and Utility Shut-offs --Health Care for All --Stop the Racist Attacks on Immigrants and Harassment of Asian Americans --Fight the Pandemic! --Don’t let Trump steal the election!

On Nov. 4, join TCC4J and a growing list of BLM, anti-police crime, labor, immigrant rights, environmental, youth, student and anti-war groups to demand a People’s Mandate!

Minneapolis: ‘Disband, defund,’ or community control, of the police

On June 7, Minneapolis officials tried to pull one over on the people again, in the guise of promising real change after the murder of George Floyd. Nine city council members declared a “commitment to dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department.” The announcement was made at community meeting held by Black Visions and Reclaim the Block, two grassroots organizations that have been calling on the council to divest from MPD since 2018.

Even if the proposal comes to pass, it will do little to deliver true justice and to avenge the victims who have been brutalized and murdered by the police over the decades.

“The truth is, these council members can’t deliver what they’re promising, and honestly, they’re not promising real accountability and community control,” said Loretta VanPelt of Twin Cities Coalition for Justice 4 Jamar. “We don’t need the police department remodeled into a public safety department. Swapping out with sheriff’s deputies or private security companies won’t solve anything. We need community control over whoever polices our communities and how.”

Week of action to honor Jamar Clark, demand end to police terror

Minneapolis, MN - The week for #JusticeThruJamar kicked off with a news conference on November 12. Dozens of people gathered outside Minneapolis City Hall, in one of the first cold spells of winter, to announce a week of actions centered around the memory of Jamar Clark, who was murdered by Minneapolis police officers on November 15, 2015.

The week of actions, organized the Twin Cities Coalition for Justice for Jamar Clark (TCC4J) is focused on the demands: Reopen the case surrounding the murder of Jamar and prosecute Minneapolis Police Department officers Dustin Schwarze and Mark Ringgenberg. Stop police terror in our communities – justice for all victims of police violence. Community Control of the Police – actual, community control, not the current rubber-stamp systems that exist.
