Happy (belated) holidays @justm3h !! I was your Secret Santa for the op secret santa event!

Coby’s character arc is honestly one of my favourites in the series. It’s funny, because although Luffy is the shounen protag, Coby went through the general protag growth more than Luffy did. Going from the whinny bby who freaked out about everything and couldn’t even think to say his dream, to now in just two years??? He literally made Luffy-level advancement, if not more. He just doesn’t get the world-wide recognition since he isn’t wanted and being a part of a secret unit and all. 

I can’t wait for Coby to whip these marines into shape and become Fleet Admiral because he’s way more than what the marines deserve, but oh boy do they need him. 

But yes, sorry for the ramble. I hope you had a good holiday and next year treats you kindly!

It still makes me grin and plot things knowing that both Coby and Law were involved with the rocky port incident. They could have met! They could have fought! Coby could have cornered Law and demanded answers about Luffy! Coby could have let Law escape because of Luffy!!! The possibilities!

Heck yeah. I’m super hoping we get the story soon, but I’m more than likely they met and just looked at each other like that one gif where those two people just stare at each other across the pool (god i wish i can find it jfc)

law and koby looking at each other like “so…..we meet, huh”

law: yeah

koby: so you must know about luffy

law: *sweats* haha yeah no

koby: he got you too, didn’t he

law: i suddenly have to go

two years later luffy mentions something about koby–”hah, wonder how koby is doing! it’s been some time since we seen him, huh zoro?” and law probably had an aneurysm on the spot because “HE TRIED TO PUNCH ME???”

“Koby?? nah, no way”

“HE SAID HE KNEW YOU??? PUNCHED A HOLE IN MY SUBMARINE???? I AM NOT KIDDING???? STRAW HAT????”

“haha you’re so funny torao”

“HAVE YOU NOT SEEN HIM FIGHT?”

“lol he’s preatty weak last we fought? i punched him in the face, so”

LawLu - Everyone is born with a spirit animal that leads to your soulmate.

With Flevance burning, Law can’t see the stars. 

He knew that the rigid road of the tail above him hadn’t led to anywhere close to Flevance, but not being able to see the path made it harder for him to take each unsteady breath.

What if they burnt with Lami and Flevance. What if they were from the kingdoms that killed my family.

What if they died too, and I’m alone?

(The cart stopped in the afternoon, long after the stars had vanished, and Law spends the rest of the day perched on the edge of a pit of bodies, staring at the sky. Waiting for the sun to set.

Wondering how many stars will be gone.)

(His stars are still there, when the moon rises; Law can see the curly tip of the animal’s tail, the way the path to his soulmate points awayawayaway from him.

I’m alive, he thinks, and then looks at the bodies in the pit at his feet, the moon and the dark washing over and smoothing out the white spots. 

Not for much longer.)

He gets up, and wonders if he can walk the path to his soulmate in less than three years.

Nami leaned against the bannister, arms crossed over her chest, and didn’t glance down at the small creature next to her. “You know, for someone who’s meant to support Luffy, you’re kind of an asshole.”

“He deserves it,” huffed the sleek snow leopard. His tail curled over his tiny feet, claws scritching groves into the wood below as he kneaded the bannister of the Sunny. “Besides, his soulmate is worse.”

Nami’s eyes narrowed. The leopard licked his paw, nonchalant, and then his ears flicked forwards, his body leaning against the wind, eyes tracking Luffy. “Are you naturally this ignorant, or have you had to work hard at it?” he called, and Luffy stepped away from the mermaid, latching his hands behind his back.

“We’re close, aren’t we,” said Nami, and the leopard heaved an annoyed, uncomfortable sigh.

“I am…unused to this particular sense of anticipation.”

“Anticipation?” Nami questioned, clearly disbelieving, and the leopard grimaced.

“Dread,” he drawled. “His arrival is not…celebrated.”

Nami’s expression fouled further, and the leopard took a moment to glance up at her, then smiled. “How would you react if you had a monkey clambering over you, demanding your dreams and your life and your attention?” he asked, and Nami’s distaste flickered into a more personal understanding. The leopard laughed, then turned back to Luffy. 

“You’ll see,” he said, and then jumped off the bannister, the height little trouble to his admittedly tiny size. “They’re not perfect, but. They will work. And he needs this. Just…give my soul a break sometimes, would you? You at least got to build up a tolerance for idiocy. My soul…hm, not so much.”

“I don’t think it’s possible to build a tolerance to Luffy,” Nami called as the leopard sauntered off, and was given deep laughter in return. 

She lifted her gaze to her captain, so close to the mermaid that she was leaning away from Luffy, and felt her lips tug into a smile.

Well, she thought, even if not tolerance, maybe a little bit of fondness.

ASCEND CHARIOT!

“Chariot” “Yes” The response falls so easy from Law mouth. “Oh” The ribbon flickers in front of him and then no more. He can’t breathe anymore, it wraps around his neck, to be hanged, to die. He grasps it and pulls and pulls only to end up scratching his skin. Blood, warm and familiar and way to much to be from simple nails. The Ribbon around his neck only winds tighter.

And the one thing he could always rely on -after Corazon death-  his powers they are gone. In his bones he knows without being told that he can’t use them, but still “Room” and and nothing. He doesn’t want to die.

Not when he finally was able to free Corazon. After finding out that he was still alive. Surviving all those years as pirate, between being hunted and hunting, making friends and enemies. After Doflamingo, after Florenz. After learning to be a doctor. Not after his journey. But slowly all goes black. No. NO!

He should be dead already; it was to long without air for a human to survive!

He falls to the ground.

“You are not the first to rip a ribbon from me and you won’t be the last. But you proven to be the part. To me, to yourself. It just never is that pleasant for them or me.”

Law still catches his breath, when he looks up to the person with blue skin and dress made out of ribbons, the same kind like Corazon’s, real but somehow out of this world.  Like the one around his sword, the one that tried to strangle him!

“Like I said you first had to prove yourself. The Giving is normally the first act, not the second.”

“Who are you?” Law pushes himself on his knees, his gaze turning to the ground, he has the feeling if he looks at them to closely he will already know and then what would have been the point of asking?

“You already know” Law looks up to see that the person is smiling at him, their dress gone, reviling more of the blue skin. It seemed to have the color of the deep ocean but after blinking, he almost thought he was back in Florenz, gazing over the river. Their hair was the ribbons, these unreal and so real seeming ribbons who floated around her in a relaxing pattern, almost unnatural smoothing. He notes their apparent intersex nature with the vulva and flat chest. The ribbons must have been wrapped around their body to seem like a dress.

“The World” They hold out their hand and in it is the ribbon that that tried to strangle him, the one who wrapped around his sword, giving him the power to tear away Corazon’s strings, his!

“And you are The one who made the journey, they one who progressed. Enduring pain and spilling your own blood, you worked and succeeded. You sailed along the see and under it. But now you have your pullers.” The panther and leopard! The ones who had bitten throw Corazon’s strings. He felt grateful and linked with them and the next moment they were besides him.

“You already know their names” He did. “And you know yours!” He gripped her hand and his Ribbon.

“The Chariot!”
