Yesterday I was at the Taj Mahal, an Indian restaurant in Neumünster, Germany. I found this painting on one of their walls very cool. It was also in Neumünster, that two nights ago, I went to a concert in the Holstenhalle (their main concert hall), where I could see Carmina Burana conducted by the amazing Justus Frantz. Coincidently it was his birthday and the entire audience sang Happy Birthday to him as one choir. • Carmina Burana has always been special for me. It has been one of my main companions while studying for exams through out my life. I would just have it playing softly and hit the books for hours. I have figured out that with classical music on the background my productivity went sky high, I never found out why. It was my history teacher Ricardo (yes, the same one of 6 posts ago talking about the Spartans) who, made me curious to listen to the entire composition. He described to us how those poems, written during the Middle Ages, have been found in a Monastery in Bavaria. He also said "for someone who does not know a lot about classical music it may sound a lot like an angelic Catholic Gregorian chant. BUT DONT GET FOOLED, if anything, Carmina Burana is a profane text with harsh criticism to the church and spiced up by a little pornography, which makes it even more interesting!" and that was all it took to raise the interest of that entire class of teenagers, among them, myself. Ricardo was indeed a genius... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #travel . . . . . . . . . #travelphotography #travelblogger #travelling #travelgram #viaje #instatravel #stories #vacation #wanderlust #tourism #tourist #trip #traveling #traveler #storytelling #storyteller #writer #justusfrantz #carminaburana #indianfood (at Neumünster) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0vXWeoo2eJ/?igshid=1o7ezb8vwu50k
