Ending the day was a normal thing, even when he was left to close up shop. The Chais had a family emergency, so he’d been given the keys.

Windows closed? Check. Dishes washed and put away? Check. Customers long since gone? Check. Lights off, alarm on, door closed and locked? Check, check, checkity-check.

... And that was when he got the feeling that, despite it being late in the evening, he wasn’t exactly alone.
