#Day7 #JagritiYatra On the Seventh day #JY entered into The Port City of Sunrise State i.e, Visakhapatnam of Andhra Pradesh, one of the smartly developing city in India. We were scheduled to visit 3 inspiring places One The Akshaya Patra Foundation, AP Innovation Society and then later Githam University It was scheduled to be a long session right starting from 9 in the morning to 9 in the evening. Reaching The Akshaya Patra Foundation, the aroma in the premises made us feel to be a little devotional. We were also got the privilege to visit the Akshaya Patra Foundation's world class hygenic kitchen. Satya Gaura Prabhu addressing the gathering says, "A guy who never be hungry for food, never be hungry for the School" Inspiring from this quote, a group of people started APF in 2000's near bengaluru and then scaledup to many cities and Towns. Prabhu ji describes their success in numbers as Serving a 1000 meals - a day to feeding 1.7 million meals a day. They were the first one to introduce Mid Day Meals in India and abroad in partnership with the local government bodies. Prabhu ji adds, Govt Of AP bear 5.5 Rupees and the foundation bears another 5 Rupees per every meal they share. The mobile lab goes to the every world class hygenic kitchen to check the quality of food being served. Foundation is also throwing some light on ClassRoom Hunger, Malnutrition, Zero Hunger and ofcourse Education. "From Hunger to Happiness, our Journey Continues" - ends the excited Satya Gaurav Prabhu 😊 Later rushed to the Ap Innovation Society in Rushikonda from APF. AP Innovation Society formerly known as Startup Village Incubation Center is now with new wings. About 10,000 ware houses to be hosted with plenty of investments. Once I have been here two years ago and now the difference is much better than then. Mr. Vinni, CEO of the society adressed the gathering and shared some meaningful thoughts. And then arrived to Githam University by 4 PM. #Day5 #jagritiyatra2018 The city of Temples, The city of Poets The city of Jasmine The city that never sleeps! Yes We reached Madhurai today! From Madhurai station we boarded on to the buses to reach #AravindEyeHospital Aravind Eye Hospital is such an inspirational place, started in 1976 by a 58 year olderly man Dr. Govindappa Venkataswamy at Madhurai after his retirement. The aravind eye care team used to send buses near to the poor and get them to the hospital, treat them, accomodate upto the completion of treatment with free meals, board them off to in the same place where they picked up. This is all done for no cost! Absolutely for no cost since 40 years 🤐 They do a variety of eye treatments including Cataract, Cornea, Glucoma, Retina & Vitreous Uvea, Vision Rehabilitation etc Even they manufacture their own contact lens. Back to 20 years, It costs them $ 200 per one Lens to import from USA. Dr. G.V started manufacturing lens and sold it for just $ 2 maintaining the same quality. How great is this! I also got the opportunity to meet the Founding Partners of Aravind Eye Care 🤘 The lines written on the walls of hospital are much inspirable for me: "Intelligence and Capabilities are not enough. #Day3 experiences at #JagritiYatra Thanks a lot for housing and bearing us for the long day @kalkerisangeetvidyalaya 🙏 We really enjoyed the day here! This school is really making a difference and an impact on the society as they never judge the students on rank basis instead they used to assign a learning tracker per every student. And the name implies, its a music school. The Thodi, Poorvi and tabala sessions were awesome! 🤘 And the students we being hosted by are rocking! Coming from socially and economically backword classes, they are giving their best in the school.
