I could've gone crazy and done it with my 4 POV characters, but nope, let's keep things simple. I’ll do it with Feid Familier as she was the first OC I created for Rising Queens.
1. What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?
Her nickname: the Black Witch, which allude to the clothes she wear. And her magic related to the manipulation of time and space.
2. Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?
She was design with Joy Familier and Saphyr Céline. They originally were three friends that life and personal goals had separated. Their dynamic has changed since then.
3. How did you choose their name?
Technically, she was not named Feid, but Faith. I decided to try to find something that would not sound so obviously English, so I looked for translations. Feid is the Old French version.
4. In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?
I think the gods and her relationship with them is what ended up shaping her character in the end, and mostly how the gift of eternal youth they gave her works.

no (honestly, she's quite banal: brown hair, brown eyes, average height)
8. What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story?
Well, let’s be honest, she was originally a self insert. I’m not sure if I can still say it’s the case, because I have changed and so has she.
9. Are they based off of you, in some way?
10. Did you know what the OC’s sexuality would be at the time of their creation?
I didn’t really consider it. I’m still unsure. I’ve never really pictured her in a relationship.
11. What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: Writing, drawing, edits, etc.)?
Writing her is difficult, mostly because of a change in plot I decided to implement when rewriting the book.
12. How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all?
Not much and a lot at the same time.. Saying more would be a spoiler..
13. If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?
Her faith (it's hard to portray a true believer when you're not really one yourself), and her magic (in the sense that I must be careful not to make her too powerful)
14. What is something about your OC that can make you laugh?
Her youth. Like she had a lot of vitality and willpower when she was younger. She could push through everything and have fun with her magic, making silly jokes.
15. What is something about your OC can make you cry?
Her loneliness. I’ve been there so I know the pain.
16. Is there some element you regret adding to your OC or their story?
Her ability to travel through time. This has created headaches as to why she does not use it more often.
17. What is the most recent thing you’ve discovered about your OC?
That she does not remember much from that one time she traveled in the future, except for her own tombstone.
18. What is your favourite fact about your OC?
She keeps trying. Even when she fails, even when she makes mistakes which can have great consequences, she gets up again and she tries to do better.
