Double Trouble

It’s not everyday that Minwoo finds himself wandering around with two Dendenne in his arms. One of them is, of course, Pocky, his precious little electric mouse. The other, however, is far younger and he has absolutely no clue who it belongs to. The little thing is absolutely distraught, and that fact alone is enough to make Minwoo equally upset. People suffering is one thing, but there’s something about the little mouse feeling so upset that is really throwing his entire groove off.

He has been pacing around looking for the poor thing’s trainer for about two hours already, but there hasn’t been much luck yet. Pocky is doing everything in her power to keep the other Dendenne calm. It’s cute to watch, but Minwoo’s sure it won’t work for too long. Something in him is more bothered by the lost little Pokemon than he should be. Maybe he relates- he’s not sure. He just wishes there was a way he could help more than what he’s already doing. If all else fails, he’ll take the little thing home and try again tomorrow. It is sort of late.

He wanders into a shop quietly- still holding both of the Pokemon. It’s really the last place he plans on looking around. His body feels tired from his panicked search and he honestly wants to just go home and sleep, but he needs to keep up the search just a little longer. He approaches the counter slowly- head starting to hurt from the activity. Why does this always happen at the worst times?

He pinches the bridge of his nose in hopes of some relief. Pocky is crawling over to his shoulder and continuing to reach down to try to wash the smaller Dendenne. She’s honestly behaving far better than Minwoo is even used to. It’s amazing to see her being so sweet instead of trying to steal the nearest shiny object.

“Ah...” His voice is a little hoarse. Maybe it’s just because he hasn’t had anything to eat or drink... Wait, did he seriously forget that? Oh well... He’ll handle it later. He addresses the person at the counter slowly. “Pardon me... Has anyone come by looking for a lost Pokemon today?”

wonshik doesn’t always stray this far from seoul, but sometimes the best stories require a bit of traveling. he’s glad for the rather cool breeze in daegu on this particular afternoon that follows him as he departs from one of the city’s pokemon centers, ruffling his hair just the slightest. he tucks his phone back into his pocket after tapping out the rest of his notes related to the brief interview he’d given, grinning to himself at how much information the nurse had given him about a particular nature of chansey eggs. well worth the trip.

cleffa only slightly weighs down his light jacket, dozing comfortably inside as the coordinator chatters to his musharna floating behind him aimlessly. 

“i honestly can’t believe we even call them eggs,” wonshik says to the psychic type, who bobs and seems to nod in agreement, though the tapir pokemon is probably half-asleep in actuality.

it’s probably best for him to catch the next train to seoul but wonshik can’t resist the smell of street food--he realizes he hasn’t eaten all day and all the egg talk has made him awfully hungry. so hungry in fact, he completely misses cleffa slipping from his jacket and tumbling down onto the street.

it’s not until he passes a pokemart with a half-eaten skewer of meat that he realizes his jacket doesn’t weigh as much as it should--he stares at musharna for a second with a “why didn’t you say anything?”--but the psychic only shrugs in a vague, pig-like way as wonshik pats his jacket frantically.

after running back to the stand and through the unfamiliar town, wonshik feels rather desperate--near the pokemart again he spots someone dozing under a tree. he hates to wake anyone from a good nap, but he’s desperate to find his small, helpless, little fairy.

“h-hey, man. i’m sorry to wake you up, but have you seen an especially small cleffa around here in the last, say, 20 minutes?”
