Lois didn’t have many people around in 1973, so those she did know, she clung to—the last thing she wanted was to be kept out of the loop because she wasn’t directly helpful or she wasn’t her goddamn husband. That was why she often asked Kara if there was anything going on that she should know about, anything that might help when it came to making some sort of estimate on when she got to go home. “It’s been feeling like there’s nothing going on,” she said, shaking her head. “I want to finish this here and I want to go back home.”
