Brody: I know you said you don't want to talk and lately it's like I can't say anything to you without it going wrong but... if you'd just tell me what's going on, I can help you.
Brody: Let me help you, even if it's just like, listening or distracting you.
Brody: Let me be your friend, okay?

KITTY: Have I said thank you for Christmas yet?
KITTY: I feel like I have, but here's a reminder. Mostly because I walked out of Church this morning and got decked in the face by my Pastor.

Everything that Kitty had said to Rachel had been true. The fact was that she actually really, really loved the Winter season. She loved the message that Christmas held, the hope that the New Year brought, and all of the snowflakes in between. It wasn’t even about the gift-giving for her, though Kitty felt a little bad that Rachel had apparently purchased a gift with her in mind and she hadn’t done the same. To be honest there wasn’t much that Kitty could afford, though. The last gift she had given was to Finn and it was a homemade scrapbook that was mostly because Kitty had been put on a budget long before her parents split up. Now it was even worse. Her mother was upset about the car that Charles had given his daughter, enough so that she refused to let him pay for anything that didn’t have to directly do with Kitty. At least she didn’t have to worry about the house anymore.
Regardless, that’s how she found herself working into the later hours of the 23rd of December at Sweet Treats. The sky was a beautiful royal blue and reflected off of the melting snowbanks on the side of the road enough to distract Kitty. With an elbow in the sugar cookie dough that she had just laid out, she could remember vividly what the last Winter season had brought her, back when things were much more simple. Her parents were together, she was with Finn, and life seemed right on track. Now it was all a mess. Kitty wiped her elbow off and tried to remove any flecks of flour, powdered sugar, and whatever else was involved away, but she was sure that it was all over her. Thank God for aprons, right? The store still had about an hour to go before she could wrap it up, so she figured that baking some sugar cookies for part of her gift to Rachel wouldn’t be so bad. Right? She dusted her hands into some flour and set about punching shapes into them -- some as stars and some as little dreidel shapes that she had found at the bottom of the drawer.
