Toa Kaaze and his two halves, Accel (middle) and Mordokai (bottom).

Kaaze was an Av-Matoran disguised as a Fe-Matoran abducted by Makuta Aerther during the Brotherhood’s purge of Iron and Magnetism Toa/Matoran in the Great Culling Alternate Universe. His soul was split into into two beings by Aerther’s Spear of Soul Fission, creating Accel (of light) and Mordokai (of darkness), who were kept prisoner and tortured relentlessly through experimentation. The two would later be freed from their cells on Destral by Berberccia, only to become bitter enemies later on. How they came back together is a story yet untold. 

Way back when, when Oni was younger, these three were the result of the machinations of a shadowy Organization related to the Brotherhood known as OATE, which dealt with the creation of artificial Toa for a war between dimensions. This was eventually retconned into the current lore of the Great Culling Alternate Universe. 

Kaaze is arguably my most complex and well made MOC, with very few gaps in his armor and a really solid build. Whether or not I consider him my self-MOC is undecided. 

One could say that his backstory is inspired by Kingdom Hearts. If you’re not quite seeing it yet, Kaaze would be Sora, Accel would be Ventus/Roxas, and Mordokai would be Vanitus. OATE was admittedly a dead ringer for Organization XIII, too.
