jude had me do an art exercise to get me to stop overthinking my art and oughh +_+ this was so fun and i feel like i haven't been so brave about my drawing process in so long.

i think that it's not obvious when you see the end result, but my process while drawing this was very simple and loose!

tried to carve my Kabria today :'D (the one I use as my icon everywhere) It was a good learning experience...excited to try to carve characters more in the future I like carving hatching the most +_+ very fun

4- How was their awakening? Did something particular happen? What's their first memory?

I think they woke up separate which was VERY disorienting for Kabria, because they had just spent the entire dream together, practically finishing each other's.... s. sandwiches. Now Labryn was just gone and it seemed like half of herself had vanished as well. (They reunited a little later. and learned that they Didn't like each other.)

11- Have they ever changed their own appearance? Was it intentional or due to external factors? Did it affect their glow as well? How long did it take? Would they ever change back?

Kabria has changed her foliage... the two of them had identical hairstyles when they awoke, and Kabria couldn't stand seeing her twin in her reflection, so she changed it over several months.... and then the next time she saw Labryn, she had also changed her hair. Neither of them would change it back.

12- What do they usually wear? Do they prefer regular clothes or growing "clothes" out of their bodies?

Kabria cares a lot more about growing her own clothes/armor and puts effort into doing it and tries her best! But she's not very good at it, which is frustrating because Labryn excels at it while not caring. They both wear more regular clothes than anything.

1 Does your commander have a unique origin separate from the personal story?

I think largely their overall story follows personal story closely. Fawn does charr stuff (her job) and Kabria does sylvari stuff (her destiny) and then at Clawr Island Trahearne scouts Fawn and is like LETS LOOP HER IN. And Kabria is like um. But. My destiny? :teensie: FOR A WHILE I think they don't like one another. There's tension until they learn to work together and cohabitate the commander role.

3 Is there an NPC your commander is closest to?

For Fawn it's Rytlock. They're good friends! They've worked well together! They GET each other. For Kabria I feel like it's Caithe and Trahearne. Her first two mentors and friends.... but I'll have to think on this one more.

7 What was their relationship to Trahearne?

For Kabria I think he was like an older sibling, the friend and confidante she'd wanted and been denied by Labryn. It was devastating to lose him. For Fawn, she saw him as a superior officer but also came to view him as a friend. Fawn gave the killing blow.

12 Did your commander die to Balthazar? If so, was their experience different from canon in any way?

I've been thinking about this for a whiiiiile. And I think they would have both had to die to Balthazar. Sealing their fates as one and bonding them together in this life and the next or whateverrrr. During the battle, Fawn was trying to defend Kabria and went down first. Kabria couldn't abandon her and was similarly cut down and then they were both killed. SO different in that they were together... 2 player team.
