I don't play the games, so I could be missing some crucial information here, but am I the only who feels like they're nerfing the Osamodas class in the shows?
I'm saying this because with the exceptions of Kabrok and Drill and his family, way back in season 1, the major Osamodas characters have been shown to have a rather poor fighting style, one that makes their fight scenes kind of hard to watch.
By this I mean how they're often shown to incorporate attempts at biting and scratching their opponents in their fights. This becomes a very sad display when compared to the fighting styles of the rest of the races: portal-making and Wakfu beams, plant manipulation, infinite, deathly accurate magic arrows, power tattoos or blood magic and drawing strength from hits, a literal class of assassins and criminals...
While she's both an exception and a proponent of this, this all goes back to season 3 and Coqueline when she turned against Oropo and tried to fight him. Running up to him on all fours, and fruitlessly trying to harm him with bites and scratches. And it is something that has continued through Aurora and her father—that's how they tried to fight off Amalia's vines, by scratching and biting them away, and we all know how that went—, and even Yrehn, who tries to employ the same tactics during that clip of her encounter with Karn.
Truth be told, I understand they should behave a tad animalistic given their connection to wildlife and all that jazz, but actually watching that behaviour in action is very jarring, if not outright pathetic. And I say this because each and every time an Osamodas character has resorted to those tactics, they were vastly outmatched.
I don't know. I'm just saying a race created with the Beast Master concept in mind should do more impressive feats than acting like a mean cat going to the vet. Because for all they're supposed to be expert tamers, I have yet to see a single one actually summon an animal to battle, even though that is, you know, the whole point of their class in the games.
If things continue like this, the Year of the Osamodas is going to be a mockery of Osamodas players.
