i got myself an nds emulator and started playing pokémon platinum for the first time. I've only played the GBA games before because the dual screens always turn me off. but I suppose I am a grown up now so I have to suck it up and cope.

Diduo stops for a moment from their rambling to appreciate the unwarranted (but welcome) headpat. They had thought that humans only did them to pokemon (so they were sorely missing out,) but it seems like this nice man knew what was up!
They’d gotten beaten by this man’s team in a flash, absolutely no contest, but he’d been thoughtful enough to console them after their loss. That always helped, no matter how much they were used to losing. They got to talking (well- Diduo got to talking,) and it seemed like their incoherent ramblings were either extremely easy for the older man to follow, or... he was just being considerate to this interesting trainer.
“Heeey!” All of a sudden, Diduo covers their face. They didn’t normally break their cover, but for some reason... they felt like they could trust this man.
