The Kachhawa Rajputs conquered Amber in the middle of the 11th cent. A.D. and made it their capital ruling over it for the next seven centuries. They established good relations with the Mughals which increased their power and wealth enormously. This cremation ground contains 6 big, 8 medium and 12 small-sized cenotaphs, with the remaining being in the form of platforms, of the rulers and family members of the dynasty. #Heritage #Historic #Memorabilia #Architecture #Remembrance #Rulers #KachwahaDynasty #SuryaVanshi #BornToTheSun #Kachwaha #Cenotaph #AmberTown #Jaipur #JaipurDiaries #JaipurJournal #Rajasthan #India #IncredibleIndia #Wanderer #Wanderlust #Travel #Travelogue #TravelDiaries

Originally know as Mishron ki Baori this beautiful three storey step well next to another beautifully restored structure named Surya Mahal. Mishron ki Baori is now almost decimated with only the well end and some remnants being visible. Khalsa ki Baori, the largest Baori in whole of Amber, is the most spectacular structure. It is said to have been built by Hari Chand Natani. His son died childless and thus the Baori passed to Government hands, hence the name Khalsa ki Baori. The local folklore has it that when the king came hunting on the hills above, a hunting lodge still visible from here, the Ranis came to Bathe and rest in the Baori and the nearby tiny Surya Mahal. #Beaut #Structures #Heritage #ForgottenHeritage #StepWells #Historic #Architecture #AmberTown #Kachwaha #Jaipur #JaipurDiaries #JaipurJournal #Rajasthan #India #IncredibleIndia #Wanderer #Wanderlust #Travel #Traveller #Travelogue #TravelDiaries
