"Fire and...blanket," she whispered, "both is best...just...forget about me if...neither"

Her surroundings were blurred by the tears in her eyes. Where was she...?

She was lucky...so lucky Kaden knew how to start a fire. She was moved closer to it, and again she was forced to resist the discomfort of temperature through will alone. She couldn't grit her teeth for fear of biting her tongue or mouth and not feeling it, and she couldn't cling to herself for lack of strength.

But the fire couldn't save her...and she couldn't fall asleep just yet...because then she wouldn't know if another complication...

Was fire always this bright? It was absolutely terrible to look at. Maybe if she shut her eyes, it wouldn't hurt as much.

But shutting her eyes was bad. Her eyes were made cold when she closed them, or when she blinked.

Knowing there was no blanket or anything else he could give you, he embraced you and made sure to wrap his tail around you.

It was warm and soft to touch... Not that you could feel much for now. It was slowly helping... Yet your desperate fight against falling asleep was worrying him so it was best to try and distract you for now so it'd be easier for you to not give in.

As he thought of what to say, he noticed that the fire was a little too bright to look at considering how your eyes kept trying to adjust "Hey, look at me" although he wasn't really aware of just how close your faces were he asked that of you to make sure your eyes get some rest without having to close entirely.
