It's been a while since the post about love letters, but I was wondering if you'd be willing to do one for Bernadetta with a male reader? If you'd be willing, I was thinking of her S/O being very patient with her and writing her a letter to try to give her comfort for when she gets anxious. Basically that they'll encourage her to step outside of her comfort zone and help her but never force her into things and they love her very much for who she is. I'll leave if it's sent or if she accidentally finds it up to you because I think it could work well either way.
Thanks and I hope you have a good one!
I really like doing the unsent format so...
Bernadetta x Reader unsent encouraging (love) letter!
Recently you've been wondering on how you can encourage Bernadetta to get out of her shell more. As often as she yelled at you for no reason, you understood she wasn't doing so because she hated you... At least you hoped so. She doesn't immediately run away when you talk so that must mean something? The few times she actually shows up to class you manage to talk a little until she starts making up interpretations of your words- looking for hidden meanings or threats.
It got to a point where you couldn't concentrate on class and started writing what you should tell her. "Bernadetta, you're a great person" no that sounds weird... "Bernadetta, you're a great person an awesome friend" and that sounds pushy!
You scribble away hoping that she won't find any hidden meanings behind your words so later in your room you read it over and over again hoping to not find any more ways your words could be twisted.
Bernadetta, there is a lot I want to tell you. Yet I know you don't really enjoy talking so I want to keep it short. I know there might be a lot of things on your mind I don't know about you yet, but from what I do know is that you're incredible and also incredibly hard on yourself. I don't want to push you or anything like that, but I think the world deserves to see you deserve better than to live in fear. Everything is scary out there, I'm not denying that. That's why I want to be there for you, to help you get out of your shell a little. Every step of the way, you can count on me, of course only if you want me to help.
You shake your head, yeah a speech like that wasn't likely to work. At least for now. Hiding the letter in your book you stand up and leave defeated.
A few days later, Bernadetta was slowly getting used to actually arriving in the classroom. She noticed that you were intensely writing down something but she wasn't the curious type to ask. Especially since she worried about possibly upsetting you.
Though one time you left the note out in the open. She didn't mean to read it but one word after another and she was suddenly too deep in to stop... When she noticed you walked up to her she immediately stopped.
"Gah! I'M SO SORRY! I didn't mean to look- I know it doesn't excuse how horrible I am but please forgive me!" She said so quickly you didn't understand her for a few seconds until you saw what she was reading.
At least you didn't get to writing the embarrassing part where you told her about your feelings. Quickly enough you told her "It's alright, I'm not mad" but you didn't get to reassure her before she ran off... Taking the letter with her.
She didn't even notice she took off with it. Only once she closed herself in her room she saw it clutched in her hand and she read it again. Turning the page she saw many side notes of compliments you had planned to put in. Making her heart skip a beat. You were just so... Sweet. And considering how much you've crossed out showed just how much thought you were putting into it.
In the end she didn't want to part with it. She pretended she didn't know where the letter might've been. While her acting was horrible and you absolutely saw through it, you decided to let her have it. After all, she looked so much happier and that letter was meant for her anyways. Perhaps you could write up an official version once you got brave enough to tell her how you felt.
