At the quack of dawn || Reza & Kadir

Reza ran, feet stomping the wet ground as his laboured, wheezing breaths filled the air. Something was wrong with the ritual of the full moon and he didn’t know what it was. He wondered if his magic had fucked up the whole thing, as it always did whenever he tried to perform something as big as this. He thought it would be alright since there were other witches that contributed to the ritual, and Helia was there too. But of course something went wrong and he was probably at fault, like everything else in his life.
He ran without direction. He simply wanted out of the forest. Even when he was still disoriented from the whirlwind of images that assaulted him during the ritual, Reza pushed through. His heart beating hard against his chest. He thought of running away even further, taking his motorbike and drove past the town’s border then sped through the night to Gods knew where, like he did when he was seventeen. But before he could continue with the thought, he bumped into Kadir.
“Kadir,” Reza grabbed the man to stop himself from stumbling back, coughing and wheezing as he try to catch his breath. “Kadir, we have to get out of here.”
