Day 43 of 100 Day Challenge Nyoongar word of the day KADJIN: Soul/spirit During the second half of Djilba (August-September), 盂蘭盆節Yúlánpénjié/Ullambana is observed in much of East Asia and in diaspora communities. It goes by many translations but I personally would use The Ghost Festival or The Hungry Ghost Festival. If I were to try translating that to Nyoongar, that would Koboorl wirt Kadjin baalap Mandja "Gathering of the Hungry Spirits" 😛 During the month, mereny/food offerings are left for koboorl wirt kadjin (Hungry spirits) and lanterns are placed on waterways to help guide spirits to their ancestral homes #kadjin #soul #spirit #ullambana #yulanpen #hungryghost #ghostfestival #nyoongar #noongar #noongarboodjar #language #wordoftheday #languagelearning #yearofindigenouslanguages #靈魂 #盂蘭盆節 #鬼月 #語言 #學語言 #國際原住民語言年 #原住民語言 https://www.instagram.com/p/B1eHrDtjx2y/?igshid=17zr4nenu8z0
