GFFLHKLÖFGH @ Kahvilla
If you wander to restaurant Kahvilla in Tampere, you may find drawings, collages, sketches and memos by me and Karin Gellman. Works have been inspired by youth, Internet and society in general and named playfully 'GFFLHKLÖFGH'. Until the end of February!
Kesän piti jo olla ohi, mutta eilen(kin) oli t-paita-keli. Suuntasin terassille teelle, ja katsastin samalla uuden kahvilan. The Chocolate Cafén sijainti oli mukava pienen kävelykadun varrella matkalla Etoniin, ja puu varjosti sopivasti paahteelta.
Kokonaisuutena paikka oli ihan mukava etenkin näin hyvällä säällä, mutta “erikoistee” ei sisältänyt ainuttakaan irtoteetä. Lisäksi tarjoilijalta unohtui pyytämäni sitruuna, mutta Clipperin Earl Grey oli tasapainoinen ilman sitäkin. Saapuessaan pöytään vadelmakakun runsas kiille herätti suurta epäilystä, onneksi se ei kuitenkaan ollut haitaksi. Kakku oli varsin maistuva.
Nimensä mukaisesti Chocolate Café on tunnettu kaakaostaan, mutta näin kuumana päivänä join mieluummin teetä. Palannen kaakaolle toiste, vaikka tästä ei varsinaista lempikahvilaa tulekaan.
Tähän mennessä Windsorin kahvilavalikoima on heikonpuoleinen, niitä on kyllä melko paljon, mutta laatu ei ole toivotunlainen. En ole löytänyt vielä yhtään paikkaa mistä saisi irtoteetä tai kuolettavan hyvää kakkua.

Summer was supposed to be over by now, but yet again it was time for short sleeves yesterday. I walked to town to check out a cafe I hadn't tried yet.The location of The Chocolate Cafe is nice by a quiet pedestrian street, and the terrace is comfortably shaded by some trees.
All in all it is a nice cafe, especially in this kind of weather, however their selection is not exactly to my taste. "Specialty tea" does not include any loose leaf tea, it's just basic Clipper. There is nothing inherently wrong with Clipper teas, just that you can get them from any supermarket, and when I go to cafe, I want an experience that is not readily available to purchase elsewhere for a lot cheaper.
Service was ok, the place was full of young and friendly waiting staff. The girl servicing me was slightly hyper and forgot the lemon I requested for tea. I was on good mood and the Clipper was ok without it too, so it is not a big issue. Having lemon with tea is kind of an oddity here anyway. The raspberry cheesecake looked suspicious with the heavy glazing, however it didn't affect the taste in an adverse way.
As the name suggests, The Chocolate Cafe is known for its hot chocolates. I believe I will return to try them some less hot day. This is not going to be my new favourite cafe, rather something that is ok every now and then. For now I have not found a cafe serving decent tea (that is loose leaf) or cakes to die for. The search continues.
