Coffee break between two train journeys. I am heading to Ottawa for the Ottawa Public Library Teen Author Fest! I'm in the schools on Friday, and then at the big event at the main branch on Saturday. On the train from Kitchener , I found myself sitting right behind Kristen Ciccarelli. Kicking myself for not having her book handy to sign! I also forgot at home Saints and Misfits by SK Ali, which I loved, and Hot Pterodactyl Boyfriend, which I bought for the title (and because it's Alan Cumyn) but haven't read yet. Also also not on me is Fierce Femmes and Notorious Liars: A Dangerous Trans Girl’s Confabulous Memoir. I'm on a panel with Kai Cheng Thom - Writer, the confabulous author, so obviously I bought that. But had to special order it and it hasn't come yet! I hope the festival bookstore will have a copy that I can snag. I think readers underestimate how much authors (at least YA authors) fangirl over other authors. OMG these people are so talented and I get to hang out with them!
