The Chinese Prodigious and Zealous

The Chinese Prodigious is an ancient medallion hidden away in Shanghai, China. Hosted within it are eight renlings embodying different human values, allowing those that posses them to transform into their respective animals.

Guarding this Prodigious is a kaire named Mei Shi, who is tied to a magical yellow orb called a Zealous. Mei Shi will test those seeking the Prodigious, and grant those they choose the title of Renren. Renrens are given both the Prodigious and the Zealous, and are free to use the magic within.

When lacking a chosen Mei Shi will merge with his Zealous, allowing him to switch between two forms, both based on a lion. His companion form is a small kwami-like being who can easily hide and observe the world unseen. Their champion form is more humanoid, being that of a giant metallic statue built to fight.

Mei Shi's champion form was a pain to draw but apparently that won't be stopping me from drawing out my five OC kaires' champion forms as well.

Could you explain Vitaa’s children more in depth?

Vitaa's children refers to any non-kwami spiritual being. They are directly created by Vitaa, and while not as strong as kwamis nor embodying a whole concept they are still powerful in their own right. Many wander the universe as the kwamis did, but a few have also taken an interest in earth itself, or were created near it and haven't left.

Beings like renlings and Mei Shi (whose species I call kaire in my AU) are all considered to be Vitaa's children. In addition to canon I will be adding sixteen OC renlings and four OC kaires to this AU. Two of these kaires will act as guardians for the Soul Gems, much like Mei Shi does for the Prodigious in canon.

I plan on posting later today a list that will go into depth about the various beings and magical items I have in this AU.

So, I’m not really sure if you’ve been asked this or have already made something on it, but have you got any headcanon info/lore on the Prodigious, the Renlings, and Mei Shi? If not what kind of info would you make? Especially on the powers and abilities the Prodigous and the Renlings (and maybe Mei Shi) would offer? Because considering how Nooroo went off so much on how powerful the Prodigious is I imagine it would’ve offered more to go with what we got in the Shanghai special.

I do have quite a few headcaons and OCs based around the Prodigious, though it has been a while since I've talked about them or fully drawn them all out. Some of them will have an important role in this AU though, actually! :)

So for beings like Mei Shi I have given them the name of "kaire" (combination of yōkai and fairy), and I have 5 OC kaires, each embodying an element (water, air, earth, fire, wood) with Mei Shi embodying metal (these elements are a combination of the western four elements and the five elements of Wu Xing).

I actually have most of my art done for my kaires for quite a while now, I just haven't posted because I haven't finished their champion forms (the equivalent of the statue form Mei Shi takes on in the special) or my OC renlings for them. Maybe I'll finish them up soon if people are interested.

While I have no plans on making an Orca kwami, I actually do have an Orca kaire! Tama Shi is one of the kaires that protects a Soul Gem, alongside their twin Ho Shi.

Tomb of a Pharaoh's 'Sole Friend' and 'Keeper of the Secret' Found in Egypt

The remains of a tomb complex belonging to the "sole friend" of an Egyptian pharaoh have been discovered near a pyramid at Abusir in Egypt.

The burial site contains the remains of a small chapel and tomb. Inside the tomb, which was robbed in ancient times, archaeologists found the remains of a statue with inscriptions referring to a priest named Kaires who was "sole friend of the king" and "keeper of the secret of the Morning House" — the place where the pharaoh got dressed and ate breakfast, a team of archaeologists with the Czech Institute of Egyptology said in a statement Oct. 2.

The archaeologists aren't sure which pharaoh the inscription is referring to, but they have some clues: The tomb complex was found near a pyramid belonging to the pharaoh Neferirkare (reign 2446–2438 B.C.); and another of the titles recorded on his statue says that Kaires was "inspector of the priests serving in the pyramid complexes" belonging to Neferirkare and his predecessor, Sahure.
