Rare volte e quasi sempre in circostanze casuali vengono dissotterrati antichi tesori di epoca romana , e’ questo il caso del tesoro di Kaiseraugst . Kaiseraugst è un odierno piccolo Comune del Cantone svizzero Argovia ; in epoca romana , dopo il 260 circa , fu sede di un importante fortezza militare di Legione e di unità ausiliarie romane , il cui nome latino era Castrum Rauracense .

Il tesoro di Kaiseraugst fa parte dei pochissimi grandi tesori europei dell’ antichita’ romana comprendente opere di : oreficeria , oggetti personali , uso quotidiano ed anche di monete , rinvenuto praticamente intatto
