Justice League Unlimited:
Definitely has the most screen time and has episodes dedicated to her and often another (e.g. GA/Huntress). By far the least practically dressed out of all the animated Dinahs BUT content wise, a solid 9/10.
Young Justice:
Dinah in practical shoes? Whaaat?? This Canary, whilst not the focus of the show, definitely gets a decent amount of screen time. Certainly more agency and purpose than in other media as she later becomes representative of the League. She also stands in as counsellor for the team which I don't think is a role I've seen her in outside of the show?? Verdict is a 8/10 (higher if there was more screen time).
Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths (correct me if wrong):
Very small amount of screen time, but you get a good fight scene. I'm a big fan of the high collar Canary costume so I'm putting it in for that reason, and also because I really like this movie! Giving it a 3/10.
Batman the Brave and the Bold:
A more damsel esque version of Dinah as most of the heroines are in this show, though it is very influenced by the 50s comics. Tried to do a thing with her and Bruce first which always has me like "aw come on man, Ollie already gets called the poor man's Batman! You're gonna steal his girl too?". Excellent musical numbers with her though. 6/10 (an extra point because I remembered how funny I find this show's Aquaman).
DC Showcase: Green Arrow:
A short I'd really recommend to anyone who hasn't seen it! It really makes me want a Green Arrow series with Dinah as a second protagonist. This Dinah is soft and her minute of screen time is worth the watch--7/10!
Lego Batman Series
Yes I know not technically an animated series, but all Lego versions of characters are their truest and most pure forms. So naturally it's a 10/10.
Possibly a weird question but to you, what’s the “ideal” super heroine body type? Sorry if that’s hard to answer.
Sorry for taking 50 years to reply (which is something I'm realising I say often haha). This question is kind of a hard one because I think it can be down to personal preference.
Obviously when we look at a lot of comics there's a consistency in that heroines tend to be drawn with teeny tiny waists, just the ROUNDEST boobs and sometimes pointy ass feet *cough* Rob Liefield *cough*. Though I think that kind of portrayal is dying out, and finally women are being drawn like...people, funnily enough.
When I draw heroines I try to think about what kind of hero they are first and foremost. For Wonder Woman I draw her tall and muscular, because that says Amazonian warrior to me. She's a very hands on fighter and has super strength too.
On the other hand with someone like Zatanna, I think I can be more relaxed with muscle because she primarily uses magic and doesn't do much hand to hand combat. Using real life examples of different athletes and martial artists helps.
Really though I think it's important that they look like a PERSON and not a pornographic caricature.
Regarding boob size, any breast size is reasonable (but not like, each the size of a torso) because plenty of women with big boobs exercise and compete. It's all about how they are drawn, like are they suctioned into that tight ass outfit so you can see each boobie or do they look like actual boobs?? Are all her organs stored in the tiddy? Or does she have a waist?? Why can't women walk on their entire feet Rob!? Tell me!!
