Bonus little blurb that inspired me to draw the YBM bad ending comic. It obviously went off track from this but I like to think of this as an ‘alternate ending’:
He didn’t want Hero to see his eyes.
Every time he did, he knew it was him. Not Omori. And although he loved him dearly Sunny just… couldn’t face him.
Head bowed, he felt the weakness in his body, the fuzziness of his head; the screaming of Omori in the back of his mind to come back to White Space, immediately.
A large curtained window caught his attention. He tried to remember:.. why it was so important…
He stood up on shaky legs and went to the window, before throwing the curtains open.
“Omori?” Hero asked, investigating immediately. Sunny froze, before turning to him. Hero’s hand shook slightly under his gaze. “Sunny… how are you? It’s been a while, hasn’t it?”
Sunny looked away, out the window., and then worked up his courage.
“It’s a bit too late for a walk now… I’m making dinner, too.”
Sunny wasn’t sure how long he could stay lucid. Omori’s presence was pushing him aside, he had to focus on not falling asleep. Besides; it was barely sunset.
He looked back to Hero, refusing to succumb. Not yet.
Hero stood there, thinking about it with a hand on his hip. He sighed.
“Tomorrow morning we can go, alright Sunny?” Hero asked hopefully.
“Sunny, no, just hang on a little longer okay? Just until tomorrow morning, please? For me?”
“…” Sunny didn’t want to make a promise he knew he couldn’t keep, Omori’s presence making the surroundings static. He should just give up. He was good at that, wasn’t he? Tears came to his eye.
Hero hugged him, and Sunny leaned into him reflexively. “Tomorrow, okay? We can even make a habit of it. Just… stay with me, Sunny…”
Sunny wondered if he was being unreasonable, and he also wondered why he felt sick to his stomach. Omori wasn’t that bad of a roommate, was he? No, that wasn’t just it… he… he wasn’t supposed to-
Static overwhelmed his senses and he opened his eyes to White Space. What… had he been trying to remember? Sitting underneath the mysterious black lightbulb, Sunny closed his eyes and waited for something to happen.
