It had been a long time since Tommy felt comfortable in his house. He tried, god knows he tried to belong. In his house, in Pogtopia, in Logsteadshire, in Las Nevadas, with Wilbur, in Snowchester. Nothing stuck. He was always one bad day from being kicked out or running away. He thought he had belonged in L'manburg, but that didn't last. It wasn't meant to be – or that's what he had to tell himself every morning, anyway, repeating someone else's lines and trying to ignore the explosions that were laced between the words. ----- Tommy didn't know how long it had been since he got up. The mold had covered the ceiling, turning it a shade of black he associated with midnight. It was almost pretty.

yeahhhh so. man. this was kind of rough. like the process i mean, the story isn't particularly 'dark' or anything. just, man, yeah wow. i think it is one of my better ones editing wise - most of it was good the first or second pass, but i had a couple problem spots that i'm not really sure of as of posting. i think it achieved what i wanted it to? got a lot of my own feelings out and followed the song well enough, i think. god you really gotta love ctommy, he is the perfect punching bag for this kinda stuff.

uhh oh yeah may add this stuff while im here. little facts about the story not explicitly stated within it:

he's ~17 in this, maybe around 18 by the time it ends and mayyyybe ~20 in the epilogue? i actually have no idea what tom's irl age is lmao, however old he was when that stream happened i guess. i make a few mentions of walking hurting or his legs being particularly fragile; that's because i have some kind of chronic leg pain and you best believe i am projecting as much as possible on that boy. i think for him it developed around the time exile was happening.... gee, i wonder why it started then?? anyway. oh yeah i call phil his 'father' one time, i always liked the sbi family thing and it is/was pretty common, so eh. i took a somewhat-realistic approach what with the mold and him getting weaker from not eating/moving, but i also like how in minecraft you don't lose hunger points and therefore can't passively die if you're not moving. kind of horrifying for a real person to experience, honestly! i mean, one more reason to not get up, i guess. you won't even die so what's the harm? (to clarify; i think that's an unhealthy mindset for anyone to have. fun storytelling though.) i left his appearance kind of vague so you can imagine him however you want, but clothes-wise i imagine him wearing a very large worn blue sweater (from friend's wool), large jeans that have many patches & tears and hang over his shoes, beat up blue converse, and the red and white 'tommyinnit shirt'. along with a couple of accessories like the tubbo compass and green bandana, which. now that i think about it why the fuck did we all decide he wears a green bandana?? it's a popular headcanon that it's from tubbo but tubbo also doesn't have that on his skin?? did we steal it from SAD-ist or someone else or what??

very excited to actually yap about this one!! i've been cooking it up quite literally since 2021 (so s1, very sorry if you were hoping it was s2), the same year i found out the musical existed, so it is somewhat based on that because i was listening to it religiously at the time

i only have one fic actually written for it and it's entirely focused on side characters, so im gonna wait to share that one till i have more of the au posted -- i will however give you a basic character overview!! (most of the cubitos aren't meant to follow the exact storyline/relationships of the pjo characters, they're mainly just vague ideas of the godly parents or major story beats)

Nico, Bianca and Will are undecided. They're important characters, but i haven't figured out a perfect configuration of Shelby Pix and Oli yet (we need numbers i'm throwing Oli in)

hermits i'm having as roman demigods, and miscellaneous mcyts (namely Martyn) i'm throwing in as norse demigods.

my take on the final few weeks of third life. the timeline is most certainly fucked up, its been years since I watched third life and my perception of it has been irreparably damaged by fanworks of it —————— He smiles gently, sorrowfully, with too much earnesty in his eyes. Scar kneels down, blood and water lapping at his sides, and slowly guides your outstretched sword to his neck. “Wait,” you choke out. “You can kill me.” “What — no,” you whisper. It feels like a scream. “For —” his voice falters. “For everything you’ve done to me to keep me alive this long, you may slay me and take the enchanter.” And — honestly, it didn’t matter if you’d just lost a life. “No, I can’t —” You don’t want to kill him. “I can’t do it,” you plead. But this was always the way it was going to end, wasn’t it? “The ghosts want a fight,” you say. One of you has to die anyway. Even if you both know who it will be. ——— It wasn’t meant to last, your mind whispers. I know, your heart responds, I know but you cannot fault me for caring.
