An Outer God that causes..
The Kaleidoscope Phenomenon
Once every 15 years a "celestial" event takes place that comets pierce the sky and strike the land, causing large bubbled domains to take up and warp and twist inhabitants and environment around it. Those who get lost or traverse it are said to become infected.
Their eyes take the form of a kaleidoscope or what looks like broken stained glass. After this, it only takes a few days for organic flesh to morph into unknowable forms and their minds shattering with it.
This phenomenon can last upwards for a few months unless precautions are taken. Anti-magic items seem to help null the effects, but if any body modifications have happened, it's irreversible.
