Eich = oak; Horn = Horn, heh; -chen is diminutive, so Hörnchen = little horn, or croissant. That said, it comes from (PG) reconstructed *aikwerno which is supposedly from (PIE) *wer: to burn. Go figure. Languages are weird.

croissant != hörnchen; hörnchen = little horn; it's a different piece of pastry and it is just homophone with the animal anyway

Looks like "squirrel" in German translates very literally as "little oak horn" and "croissant" is "little horn", but I think only a bad punster would analyze as "oak croissant". But this is someone with two years of college German and Google Translate, so take it for what it's worth.

How do you feel about smut?

Depends.  Smut is one of those things that can either be very easy to write or very hard.  It all depends on if the characters in question have chemistry and if they mind having me along for the ride, so to speak.  When I'm writing I don't really feel like I'm making the story, I'm just relating what it is the characters are doing.  

I don't even know if that's normal. XD
