Nigar Kalfa - Muhteşem Yüzyıl, ep. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 , 8, 9
"In the morning she got up with a headache and tear stained eyes."
-Anton Chekhov " A living Chattel"
I suggested this before as well. Have you considered drawing ottoman women, where you underline not only the ottoman style, but add elements of their original ethnicity, meanings of their names, personality etc. You could draw members of the sultanate of women, as well as other powerful ones like imperial princesses, powerful Hasekis and influential kalfas.
I think that would be interesting.
Hello! :)
I just saw your suggestion in a comment, which Tumblr didn't bother to notify me of. Which makes me grateful that you tried to write to me again, giving me the chance to answer.
As for the illustrations you are talking about: I never thought of drawing something related to the Ottomans, the Sultans, Hasekis or Kalfas because currently, I don't find an interest in that subject. The illustrations with personalities that I create are part of a personal project, which may or may not materialize in an artist book, that's why all the personalities - women and men alike - are part of the history of England in the 15th century , more precisely Wars of the Roses.
Regarding your suggestion, I can't say yes, but I can't say no either. All I know is that currently, I find neither interest nor inspiration for the subject of the Ottomans to make me want to document myself and study the habits, mentality and traits of these personalities.
Thank you and I hope you have a good day! ^.^
