கமர் கட் – Kamarkattu/Kalkona Recipe in Tamil
Memories down the lane for the love of kamarkattu or kalkona muttai. Who doesn't have a sweet tooth. That nostalgic feeling. How many of you still remember that one small shop where you checkin to munch these kind of snacks or sweets after school. All our #90skids pocket money will be spent in these kind of #PettiKadais. Mission name: Kammarkattu mittai | kalkona | coconut jaggery balls Ground set up: Jaggery - 500gm One full big sized coconut grated Water - 1cup Coconut oil/ghee-2tbsp No. of disasters per fire: 30-40 small gooseberry sized balls. How to launch: 1. Heat a kadai, add jaggery along with 1cup of water and let boil until it dissolves completely. Strain the liquid using a strainer so that you can avoid stones or sand that gets settled down. 2. Heat a thick bottom kadai, add the jaggery mixture and let it boil for a min. 3. Add the grated coconut, stir continuously either the coconut will settle down and get burnt. 4. Take water in a cup to test the consistency. Add a drop of the jaggery mixture into the cold water and check for the string consistency that can be rolled with your fingers. It takes about 20-25minutes or even more than that to get the string consistency. 5. If you dont get the string consistency, continue stirring in the stove and check by adding drops into the water. 6. Apply coconut oil/ghee to a plate and pour down the mixture from the kadai to the plate. 7. Apply coconut oil/ghee to hands and make small gooseberry shaped round balls or you can spread it evenly in a place and slice it in different shapes when it's hot. 8. Allow it to cool for about an hour, store it in an air tight container and refrigerate. It stays for about 2months. Mission launched: Very easy recipe with daily kitchen ingredients that are readily available. Post mission expedition: 1. If you miss to follow the string consistency the sweet might get harder or it crumbles. 2. Use new jaggery for a fresh taste. #kalkona #kammarukattu #muttai #90skids #nostalgia #pottikadai #1re #easyrecipe #homecook #weekend #food #snacks #foodie #homechef #bachelorscooking #spinsterscooking #life #foodporn #streetfood #foodphotography #indianfood #homeingredients https://www.instagram.com/p/CBvvTpQHVlN/?igshid=1v02dwxt6qxif
