Keith with the BoM, whenever they were watching the Voltron Show and Allura appeared on the screen

Keith: Allura and I don't have pets names for each other.

Lance: I see... Keith, what do bees make?

Keith: Honey?

Allura: [from the next door] Yes, dear?

Keith: ...

Lance: Don't ever lie to my face again.

Wouldn't it be really messed up if one of the reasons why Keith left Voltron and joined the Blade of Mamora was to separate himself from Allura.

Maybe he started to grow really attached to her..in a way he hadn't felt in so long.

But just like every person he let in, they left.

So that could explain why Keith came back (I believe in the first episode of s4)and watched Allura from a distance. And after she made eye contact with him, he sadly walked off because though it hurt..it would be for the best.
