Tossing in his sleep, Kalyan muttered under his breath, a layer of sweat forming over his skin. It would have been clear to anyone that might have been watching that he wasn’t having a very good dream. Of course, no one was watching, because he wasn’t sleeping next to anyone. No one else had been in the room, even. So he had carried on having his bad dream. Until he eventually turned over to his side to face the blaring noise of an alarm clock. His eyes shot open then before half closing again a moment later. It had been months of bad dreams like the one he had just had. Almost all of them were exactly the same, over and over again. If he had bags under his eyes(Which he most certainly did), it was because he had been so exhausted because of all those dreams. Pushing himself up he dropped his head in his right hand and let out a breath “ I wish I could have a different dream…” Kalyan muttered before standing up from his bed and sluggishly walking toward the bathroom.
Once out he was sitting alone in his small kitchen eating a bowl of cereal. Slowly chewing, he found himself thinking about what he had been dreaming. It all seemed so easy to forget once he woke up. Only a few things had remained, words, names, he thought. Yes, they sounded like names to him. Or well, more so, just one name “ Who the hell is Dazhbog?” Finishing his cereal then he pushed himself away from the kitchen table and turned to place his cereal in the sink. After that he moved to get ready for work, as owner of the local bakery, Kalyan knew that the shop wouldn’t open without him. Yet he didn’t really find much enjoyment in baking. It wasn’t really the job he wanted, but after his mothers death he had inherited and seeing as he wasn’t exactly working or making any money during the time he agreed to take on the family business. At least until he found something he would really enjoy doing. It had been several years since then and still, he didn’t seem to have been good at anything else at all.
Walking into the shop about an hour after he finished breakfast Kalyan flipped over the sign out front, announcing to anyone who wanted to know that the shop had been open. Rolling his eyes he moved to get some baking done for the morning customers to enjoy. The usual anyway. Dully he stood in the back at the kitchen counter stirring away at some sort of mix “ Dazhbog…” He muttered, still focusing on something so annoying. He knew that if anyone was to come in while he was in the middle of making snacks, that they could easily just ring the bell. As they usually did. Kalyan had, however, been glad no one was there yet as he was muttering to himself about who Dazhbog was and why he was dreaming about it, as well as why he just couldn’t seem to dream about anything else, for that matter. He didn’t exactly realize just how loud he was muttering, or how annoyed he had actually sounded as he was muttering under his breath, pacing this way and that across the kitchen, back and forth. All while tending to his baking.
