Hey! I saw that you were answering people's questions about NYU and I thought I could ask some questions myself! I'm a HS senior and I really want to go to NYU, particularly kanbar for scriptwriting, after a complete 2 years of CC. Do you know how hard it is to get into the scriptwriting course? Do you know what things they'll be looking for on my application? Do you think if I went to film camp this summer it would look good? Do you know anybody doing scriptwriting, do they like it? Thank you!

I don't really know enough about the screenwriting program since I was a part of the general film and television undergrad program, but I'd imagine it's probably comparable to getting into film (though, a smaller program). They'll be looking for all the normal stuff (i.e. grades, extracurrics, test scores, etc) but, for film and - I'm assuming - screenwriting also, they want to see that you're capable of telling a complete story. It doesn't have to be the most original, creative thing you've ever made, but it has to be solid - a beginning, middle, and end. Going to film camp definitely wouldn't hurt, and it would let you get a feel for the program (I'm not sure if it justifies the cost, though). I've known two or three people in the screenwriting program, I think they were all pretty satisfied with it!
