Little Wonders: mysterymanjoseph and wild wonders
Joseph had heard on the news about a local small hospital having difficulties with its pediatrics unit, short on equipment and staff. After having one of the private charity foundations that his corporation funds check out the hospital, he decides this is a cause worth giving too. His foundations are very careful who they donate to, charity is for those who are in need, not the administrators or collectors so they can get wealthy. Joseph himself, posing as just as an assistant to the foundations point person, goes to the hospital as details are being hammer out with the hospitals administration. During that time, Joseph has wandered down to the maternity ward, having clearance to do so since he is with the foundation team. He is standing at the window of the ward, looking at the newborns as they lay in their tiny beds. He has a big soft spot for children, probably from his time deployed in Afghanistan, seeing how the fighting destroyed the children who survived the conflicts innocence. He thinks, “Look at those tiny fingernails, I never get over just how little a newborn is.”
