Announcing the Riverdale Fall Promptathon!
Given...everything...going on lately, we here at @riverdalepromptathon think this fandom is in need of a pick-me-up. And not just that, but a pick-me-up that puts our focus back on what really matters: the beautiful fanworks that we’ve created, consumed, and shared as a community.
So this time, we’re not coming up with the prompts - you are! In the spirit of celebrating our own takes on these characters we love, we’re asking you to draw inspiration not from Riverdale canon, but from your favorite fics. Here’s how to participate:
PROMPT: Saturday, October 9 - Saturday, October 16
Authors will share a list of their own stories they’re accepting prompts for, using this post template. Maybe it’s all your fics, maybe it’s only a select few - it’s totally up to you.
Readers will send authors prompts about those stories. Was there a missing moment you wish was included in your favorite AU? Have you always wondered what happened after the happily ever after? This is your chance to prompt it!
Authors can also open up their existing works for other writers and artists to play around with. This one’s totally optional - we know not everyone is comfortable opening up a treasured take on their faves. But we wanted a way for fan artists and new writers who don’t have existing works yet to participate! If you’re open to seeing someone else’s take on your story, we hope you’ll throw it out there. (Anyone opening up their fic for others can list “rules” for interested creators to follow - e.g. nothing E-rated, no ship swapping, etc.)
PRODUCE: Sunday, October 17 - Friday, November 12
Everyone works on their fic and their fanart!
POST: Saturday, November 13 - Saturday, November 20
All creative works are shared. While there’s no true hard deadline to post your contributions, we ask that if you’d like your work included in the master post we’ll be pulling together, you post it no later than November 20. Tag @riverdalepromptathon in your post so we can find you!
