Dear listeners, let me tell you a story that takes place thousands of years ago during the Xia Dynasty, China's first dynasty. In that time, there was a woman who was married to the Xia Dynasty's leader. She was nicknamed Chún Hú (纯狐), which means "pure fox," and was known for her incredible beauty. She eventually bore a son named Bó Fēng (伯封). Chún Hú loved her son very much. However, the events to come would eventually cause her to lose the son she loved so dearly.
Now, you may have heard of the legendary Hòu Yì (后羿). One story paints him as a legendary archer who managed to shoot nine of the ten Sunbirds and also married a Lunarian goddess; another paints him as a tyrannical leader who ruled over the Xia Dynasty and eventually murdered his own son. The truth is that both stories are, in fact, true. The legendary archer and the tyrannical ruler were the same individual.
This lunarian goddess was a second wife that Hòu Yì had taken for himself. Regarding the nine suns that he had shot down, one of those fallen suns had managed to kill Bó Fēng. In her anger, Chún Hú killed Hòu Yì in retaliation. However, killing her traitorous husband was not enough for Chún Hú. Driven by grief at the loss of her son and by anger and resentment towards everything connected to the death of her son, this "pure fox" had purified her very being into a being of pure resentment. Now she has sworn to destroy everything connected to Hòu Yì, including the accursed lunarian whose hand he took in marriage: Chang'e.
"Vilomah". This Sanskrit word translates to "against natural order" and is used to refer to a parent who has lost their child in death. I believe this word suits Junko perfectly.
As for the song, I wanted to try a different approach from the usual electronic music approach that I've taken with the last 11 songs of TH15's OST. I wanted to try and put emphasis on the somber tune the song holds, giving it a sense of introspection as well; this is because I feel the song is meant to portray the grief Junko felt—and possibly deep down still feels—over the loss of her son.
Having said all of that, I hope you enjoy this remix! Next time is Pure Furies, and I'm really excited to show you all what I've done with that song!
