With what's going on with ICE, if people that have had their markers invalided are now carrying documentation that the state no longer holds as legitimate, and this documentation is *literally* their proof of American citizenship if questioned by ICE. . . The implications are terrifying. Imagine, a trans person is stopped by ICE, shows their documentation, but because they changed the marker on their documentation, the documentation's validity can now be brought into question, meaning they just invalided the means by which a trans person who has changed their gender marker can prove American citizenship because those trans people now have markers on their documentation that the issuing state sees as invalid. We are not angry enough!
