"Real men, of course! The Inquisition needs real heroes. Loyal fighters, honest people and strong personalities, not painted traitors to the country or spies like the faggot from Tevinter. Keeping slaves, practising blood magic and sucking cocks - that's all these guys can do!" That was as far as the guard got.
His mate poked him in the side and hissed, "Ssssh! Here he comes!"
"Anything to report, Herrler?" Cullen asked one of the guards.
"No sir, no sightings and no reports sir!" Replied the young man.
Dorian Pavus folded his arms and looked around. It was very early in the morning, the sun was still low and it was extremely fresh up here on the battlements.
"Why don't you have some hot tea up here, or at least coats or blankets around? We need you guys safe and sound! Get some rations first and then keep on guarding. The commander and I will take over for you here until you return." Dorian looked caringly and thoughtfully into the eyes of the two young men.
"You heard Lord Pavus! Hurry up! Get something and then back to your places!"
The commanders order sank in and the two guards ran off at a goose step.
For a few minutes Rutherford and Pavus just stood silently side by side, gazing into the distance.
"Those two are cheeky little fruits. They like to rough others up. Why are you always so friendly, Lord Pavus?" Cullen scratched his chin thoughtfully.
"Lady Cadash has asked me to look after each one when she is away. She wants everyone to be reasonably well. Contentment makes one strong and she is right about that!" Dorian's reply sounded like a speech. His voice was firm and friendly at the same time.
