The Adventures Of Tintin (2011)
Can we appreciate this gorgeous shot of the karaboudjan that tintin just had to photobomb.
There she is in all her majesty, and there’s Tintin wresting with a damn bird.
For the AU I'm writing in, I'm blending elements from the comics and movie together. One such development is a "Legacy Chain".
Ivan served as Rasty's mentor into organized crime. He's where Rasty's underlying megalomanic tendacies got cranked up to 11, though he takes no credit for Rasty engaging in "dirty" crime like drugs or guns as Ivan sticks to antiques and art. Both carry the same ruthlessness, however.
Rasty took Allan on as his personal portege right at the start when the young mariner began to slip into the criminal underworld before eventually casting him aside when this version of Allan (who served in this reality's WWI analogue as a stretcher bearer alongside Tom before they were both transferred to recon/scout via a Army Tranfers Act of 1915-analogue) refused to throw his close crew to the side.
Allan then eventually takes on Shadow as his own apprentice (with help from Tom) both to fulfill a legacy desire (no blood kids) but also to hopefully use the isekai'd Gen Z'er to take out Rasty (Darth Maul style). Less awful than his canon counterpart, instead truly caring for his fellow "men in the mud" and harboring secret guilt for keeping Haddock drunk (he believes if Haddock takes the helm, the whole ship could be in danger), Allan still enables the more morally grey aspects of Shadow and employs manipulation to keep Shadow loyal to him personally. After all, when it comes to their current job, there are no second place prizes.
The amount of thoughts I have about this AU cannot be overstated, but do I write any of it? No, I stare at the page and expect this damn story to write itself.
Given what was a single story when I started has mutated into two mini-series and four full length books... I shall be staring for a bit
having a biologist as a girlfriend is like
The Adventures of Tintin: The Crab with the Golden Claws by Herge. The ninth Tintin story. It also features the first appearance of Captain Haddock who Tintin meets aboard the Karaboudjan. This was a 2012 US edition of 'Crab' that was published in a smaller format than the normal Tintin albums but which included an extra 20 page of back-up features providing a bit of history to the adventure.
Little Adventures!AU sketchdump because I need practice without stressing myself out on more polished pieces lol
Karaboudjan my beloved~
